Only the red are bars....The gold 'bars' are part of the shield....
11 stars and 6 bars (total 17).
The overlaid text on the image already highlights exactly that, and it matches the visible elements on this golden eagle emblem (likely a variant of the U.S. presidential or official seal):
Stars: There are 11 golden stars arranged in an arc above and around the shield.
Bars (stripes on the shield): There are 6 visible red vertical bars/stripes on the shield.
This is a common design detail in such emblems (the full traditional U.S. coat of arms uses 13 stripes total, but this specific rendering/view shows 6 red ones prominently). The math checks out: 11 + 6 = 17.
It's actually 5 bars or 7 bars. The red space is the space between the bars
*Edit - Or not. Seems if the stars are gold then the bars are too and the red space would be negative space but other comments suggests otherwise and I'm no authority on this so whatever it is. I like 17 so I hope so.
I picked up on this last night. 11 Stars had me wondering. Good catch with the bars!
There are 11 bars, 5 gold and 6 red.

Itβs the 13 colonies
The Gold is Part of the shield, Not bars....
Iβm seeing the gold as the white and blue, where they used the two outer gold stripes as stripe+border

Itβd be odd if it was intended as 5 alternate gold stripes, but could be.
The 6 colored stripes + 11 stars still check out either way. Sorry, Iβm just being pedantic. π
7 gold stripes + 10 swirly things in the background also = 17 though.

I donβt see six bars, only five. What am I missing?
Counting the red and not the gold.
Oh, now I see. Thanks Fren.
