Don't give up your guns and stuff like this won't happen.
Also, VPNs don't mean squat if you have a Microsoft based operating system. There is a special ID that each MS OS install is given that any LEO agency can track, as long as they have access to Microsoft's internal database. Apparently, this is something that most cubersecurity techs aren't even taught in school, and it's not something explained to them once they have a job unless they are involved in an investigation, i.e. being the tech responsible for gathering any info for the LEOs.
It's how the LEOs are tracking and apprehending modern hackers.
There's a post floating around on Instagram by a cyber security expert explaining this. There was a hacking group recently nabbed in the EU as a result of this underlying MS ID that almost no one knows about. Only Microsoft has access to this secret ID number as it is an internal thing they track. I can't remember the guy's Insta name or the article he read it from and I didnt save the post.
How the world's govts found out about this is anyone's guess.
Just do a search on recent hacking busts in the EU and I'm sure you'll be able to find it.
So, basically, VPNs are useless if you're up to nefarious purposes on the net. Which is something I've been saying for a while now. If the govts of the world want to find you, they'll find you.
I also remember hearing about Microsoft going to extensive lengths to hack and infiltrate Linux distributions.
Not sure if true or if they succeeded, but itβs hard to fail with infinite money behind you, like say if your mother was a Fed Governor or something. Bill Gates definitely built MS from a garage though, honk.
With our iphones tracking our every movement day to day, and most people using face ID to open their phones, I'd say our phones can basically create a new you if needed. They know where we are most likely headed before we leave. It's sick

I just always assumed the vast majority of big name VPNs were run by the Intel agencies as honeypots.
Yeah it's not like we sites can't detect you're using a VPN anyway, and plus, the government knows exactly where you are at all times.
