Have you ever considered that this is the same lighting that is on you when someone is comparing you with your passport photo? The issue is not "looking good." It is whether you look like your photo under institutional light.

I like this idea. I need to get a passport as a just in case we ever decide to travel out of the country. I had one taken at Walgreens years ago and yes, it looked horrible. LOL

I would love to take my pix at home and be able to choose which I liked best.
