Chabahar is Iran's only deep-water ocean port that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz entirely -- India spent years developing it for exactly that reason. The US hit it harder than any other target across two nights of strikes on 170 locations, destroying the control tower, both main piers, and the IRGC naval base. Iran's chief negotiator is still insisting the strait will only open under "Iranian arrangements."
This is just an idea. I wonder if there are other bad actors, under the radar, creating the havoc in Iran, rather than their actual current government. I've also thought N. Korea is another example of a puppet regime that exists just for people (maybe connected with bad deep state operatives in the US or Europe) who want to create chaos.
The IRGC consists of largely independent leadership. This was done to counter the constant threat of assassination. We've killed much of their leadership, and now there is nobody to reign them in.

That will only kill civilians while the fanatics sit in their bunkers. I agree it would send a message like it did to Japan, but I think it would turn the entire world against us even more than they already are.

Around 42 million Iranians live in 98 "cities" with a population of not less than 100,000 each.
98 is less than 2% of the US nuclear arsenal.

Khamanei’s funeral would've been the perfect time and place to bomb the shit out of 'em.
Lets face it, those that attended are supporters of terrorism and/or terrorists themselves.
And there was a shit load of them that could've been wiped off the face of the earth with just a few drops.....
The optics would have been bad, but that would have been a good move. I would target the mosques.
