So I went to the hospital with a low blood oxygen level and spent 10 days there with clots in my lungs from… what illness if it wasn’t COVID? I’m a young healthy pregnant woman that usually doesn’t get colds or the flu. What was it exactly that almost killed me?
Thank you. It’s a Catholic hospital and nuns/priests called my room daily and prayed outside my room window each night. I was also assigned a nun to continue to pray for me after my discharge and she calls me once a week still. It is a special place. My husband and I both don’t want to think what would have happened if we had gone to a secular hospital.
I was in the ICU from COVID and am unvaxxed. When they moved me to a different floor I got a roommate— she was vaxxed and recently boosted, had everything COVID that I had plus multiple organs failing. They were trying to figure out why.
Me, I was sent home early ahead of schedule with just a small amount of oxygen. I’m still thankful to be unvaxxed.
It was actually miraculous. The doctors and nurses couldn’t understand it. My husband did do the talking in the ER and I had to be wheeled in. Even now I get 2 visits a week from a home nurse and they are dumbfounded that my lungs sound clear. But anyway, if I wasn’t denied early treatment from my OB with what the queen is getting then I could have avoided all this. It’s criminal.
Yes! I couldn’t walk my first few days home. I’m just starting to go up the stairs and it’s week 4. The doc said my body went nuts because of the pregnancy hormones. My husband recovered within 4-5 days without issue.
I was taking zinc, vit C, vit D, but not quercetin because I read it wasn’t safe during pregnancy. My husband got Omicron first then I did 3 days later and I was recovering (fever subsided). But then I started breathing short and coughing for a few days and got physically weak. I didn’t realize my lungs were filling with clots. So I really wasn’t hospitalized for COVID per say but for the low oxygen caused by the clots. The doctors said I somehow also contracted Delta and my pregnancy hormones caused my body to overreact. I was also on steroids to calm my body down. So the treatment was oxygen mask, remdesivir (sp), and steroids during my stay.
Jesus. I love this community and was sharing everything from my discharge papers. But wtf?? I’m dumbfounded by these responses. The doctors didn’t believe the numbers either because I was conscious and they just kept saying me and the baby were so lucky.
Actually they almost vented me but as soon as I got on the oxygen mask I went back up to 97%. The doc said he’s never seen anything like that. Also they do not vent when you’re below 90% that’s just stupid. I’m recovering at home on oxygen and my directions are to use oxygen when I hit the high 80’s as a precaution for Baby. I only hit the high 80’s when climbing the stairs anymore but that’s quickly improving as well.
My husband did the talking when we first arrived but it was weird… COVID is sneaky. I wasn’t even sure if I should go the ER earlier that night but I regressed really quickly. And yes when the hematologist looked at my CT scan of my lungs he just quietly said, “Wow”. Scary moment.
Yeah the doctors didn’t understand how I was still conscious. My husband wheeled me into the ER because I couldn’t walk. Check my post history. I’m always on here except I took a break during my recovery the past 6 weeks. I talk about being pregnant and of course am based… and unvaxxed!
I was in the ICU for 10 days with Delta 4 weeks ago. Pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, and lactic acidosis. I’m also pregnant. When they admitted me they said I’d do a 5-day round of remdesivir (almost went on ventilator but I was able to avoid it), and I immediately said ‘but doesn’t that cause organ failure?’ The doctor looked at me confused and said, ‘absolutely not.’ And I said well please monitor my organ function daily and he said yes we do that automatically. I had blood drawn every morning around 4-6am if I was awake. Made a complete recovery faster than the doctors said. My lungs were 90% clots and my blood oxygen was fluctuating between 22-40% when I was admitted. Me and Baby were lucky! As of this week I’m off the home oxygen.
Delta has different symptoms and my symptoms were textbook omicron. And I did a hospital grade rapid test. This is the worst illness I’ve ever had… definitely not normal cold/flu. The muscle pain was excruciating like whole-body arthritis. I also lost my sense of taste and smell completely.
I’m young healthy and pregnant… never get colds or flus. What exactly caused my lungs to fill with clots and had me spending 10 days in the ICU last month? That’s not a normal run-of-the-mill illness that people get. I even had all of the odd COVID symptoms like loss of taste/smell, and low blood oxygen but inexplicably functional despite it.
