The Elon hate has been well deserved. And it's not even Elon "hate" per say, but people who lack nuance or see the world in black and white will perceive it that way.

George Soros has the highest X user score I've found so far at 82.5 out of 100. Even higher than Obama's 75 out of 100.

This lol. He's too busy implementing a social credit system to be worried about holding votes.

Really weird, I've been able to get it to be quite consistent and replicate the outputs most others on X are reporting. Such as Obama's score of 75 out of 100. Also I've prompted it two ways. First time was, "what is my X score?" The other was "what is my user score?" Or "what is Obama's user score?"

It also gave me this breakdown of how the user score is calculated:

User scores on X are calculated based on a variety of metrics and qualitative factors, though the exact formula isn't officially disclosed. Here's a general breakdown based on posts found on X and general web insights:

Engagement Metrics: Likes, retweets, comments, and bookmarks contribute to a user's score. Each type of interaction might have different weights. For instance, likes might have a lower impact than retweets or comments.

Content Quality and Nature: The tone and content of posts are considered. Positive, constructive, or engaging content can boost a score, while negativity might reduce it. This aligns with X's recent algorithm changes focusing on "no negativity" and "unregretted user seconds."

Behavior Score: This could involve the user's behavior on the platform, including consistency, the frequency of posts, and how they interact with others. Positive interactions and a consistent presence might improve a score.

Violation Penalty: Violations of platform rules or community standards can negatively impact a user's score. This includes spam, misinformation, or any behavior leading to account actions like suspensions.

Follower Engagement: The engagement rate with followers, including how followers perceive and interact with the user's content, plays a role. A high engagement rate from a large follower base can significantly increase a score.

Unregretted User Seconds: This newer metric measures how long users spend engaging with content without regretting their time spent, which could be a factor in determining content quality and user score.

User Invites: Some platforms incentivize user growth by considering the number of invites or new users a person brings to the platform.

Here's a speculative formula, based on user discussions on X:

X_Score = (Engagement_Score + Follower_Score + Behavior_Score - Violation_Penalty) / Total_Possible_Score * 100

Where: Engagement_Score could be derived from likes, comments, retweets, etc., with each having different multipliers.

Follower_Score might reflect the quality and engagement of the follower base.

Behavior_Score could include consistency, frequency, and positive interactions.

Violation_Penalty would subtract points for any negative behavior or violations.

This explanation is based on community insights and speculative discussions rather than official documentation, as the exact scoring method isn't publicly detailed by X. Scores can range widely, from negative values to over 100, reflecting both the complexity and the subjective nature of how they're calculated.

Its way worse than a typically up/down doot system though. Because it's not downvoting or upvoting specific comments, instead it's like a shadow voting system for accounts.

Not only that, but from what I gathered it is also weighted. Meaning larger more "popular" accounts have more impact than smaller ones. This is a really shitty system and spits in the face of free speech.

He also "prophesied" about the recent New Orleans and Las Vegas attacks. However I am also leery of people like this, and my line of thinking usually goes to are these people being fed info through white hat or black hat sources?

I don't doubt that we could encounter an actual prophet or someone tapping into the spirit. However, after digging through some of his other content after the first time I discovered him some things just didn't align with my own perception of the spirit. So I am skeptical of this dude.

Crazy how hard people around here fell for Elon. I don't blame people for hoping and thinking he was or might still be on our side. But some people will outright try and shut any criticism directed towards him down which is insane.

I pray the same for you and all of us as we continue this march forward into the unknown.

Agreed, I appreciate the debate as well. I think it's important we remain critical of our leaders and all information that passes through here. It's the only way we can hold each other accountable and get to the truth.

Nice! Thank you as well for the extra sauce because that does make me feel a lot better about his current stance. It at least shows it wasn't a blatant lie and that he had already reconsidered his position back then. Which he then did hold true to with harsher restrictions on the H-1B program that I think Biden later reversed?

Drawdraw45 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well you're demonstrably wrong on this, here is the sauce:

In both of these he talks very negatively about the program and how it is bad for the American workers.

Whereas now he says, "I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas. That’s why we have them,”

Which is an outright flip flop and a lie compared to his 2016 comments.

He's actually telling a straight up lie and being inconsistent with his first term specifically regarding H-1B visas. That's the major problem I have with this.

100% I think it nailed what a lot of the avg MAGA base who were outraged the past week are feeling.

I respect the decision to reserve judgment and definitely can see it as being kabuki theater to move the needle on the issue publicly. I agree with your assessment about the situation regarding the universities, and I also want to add that the fact that this has all been done by design is what made Vivek's comments even more enraging to me.

The problem is, his jab at our culture was intertwined with lies, truths, and half truths. It was a poor attempt at creating a scapegoat, failed to encapsulate the full picture, and insulted Americans in the process. In some ways it put the blame on the shoulder of the American people for what they chose to value, rather than calling out the real multi-headed hydra that created this situation.

For example, the idea of valuing the jock over the valedictorian. Is this fully true? Even if it is, how far back does it go? Afaik Americans have always valued physical prowess, and even still we remained at the forefront of innovation around the world. Think about the movies Revenge of the Nerds, that concept was already being played out in the 80s, and even at that time we were still leading innovation. Was our culture a major hindrance then? Is our culture the main culprit now?

I will cut him some slack and say, yes our culture has slipped further since the 80s. But how do we quantify the amount? How do we quantify the actual impact on the quality of engineers, and is that the main reason we have to result to hiring foreigners that don't share our values on H-1B visas? Is there even a shortage of engineers and STEM graduates in the US like they suggest is the case? From what I've seen with people pouring through the data, the answer is no. So why then are we doing it? Is it for cheap indentured labor? Not only that, it gets worse when you dig into the quality of workers we are really getting from these programs. Are they really sending their best and their brightest? In most cases from what I've seen, I don't think so. So when you digest all of that and then read Vivek's elaborate speel on us arriving at this point due to problems with our culture, it then can be seen for an even bigger slap to the face.

What's worse, is that people trying to vent their frustrations and not knowing exactly how to do so in the most fruitful manner are getting labeled as racists. It's like when someone instigates violence against you in a school setting and the teachers didn't see it, but then you retaliate out of defense and end up being the one getting in trouble and labeled violent. It's fucking sick, and this is the type of shit that radicalizes people because they feel they have no voice. Especially those on the MAGA side who don't frequent places like GAW where they can see the bigger picture and cool off.

Anyways, my rant is getting too long. I didn't even get to respond to the other parts of your post. I'm sorry about your current struggles fren and I will be praying you are able to find your way. I've been in a bit of a similar boat in recent years, all we can do is keep on pushing and do our best to follow our souls towards what we hope will be the right path.

Loomer isn't the only one getting caught in the crossfire. And Elon is actively reposting and interacting with an actual verified racist "Ian Miles Cheong", so I don't think that is actually an issue to him. It's just virtue signaling to get his way with policy.

If you think about this change it seems to be a worse version of upvoting/downvoting posts. Except it's on an account level and the votes are weighted based on account popularity. In theory, it will really hurt accounts that go against the grain, and people's reach will be punished for having non-lukewarm takes.

Yep and I don't like that the entire paypal crew is wrapping its tentacles around the MAGA movement.

This is the most infuriating part. It's sad that they continue to try and play that card even now, and even more sad that for some people it seems to be landing.

3
Drawdraw45 3 points ago +3 / -0

I was disheartened to see that, but will give it more time to see where things land. Trump in his last term cracked down on H-1B's pretty hard and imposed harsher restrictions on it. The Biden admin reverted those changes. If Trump ends up making similar moves in his second term then I will be satisfied. It however is important that we keep a watchful eye.

He also has the time to push Diablo 4 endgame and now Path of Exile 2 endgame. He is either one of the most hyper-efficient and effective operators of all time, or it could all be an act.

I'm not sure where I land on that one, I do think it's possible that he is an absolute elite tier individual, but I also don't find the contrary to be farfetched either.

As far as if Trump should distance himself from him, I am going to give that one a little more time to see how things play out. That being said, my biggest thing I wanted to communicate to people here is that we should always remain skeptical. The thought that we should just trust and follow has been somewhat pervasive around here lately, and I couldn't disagree with that line of thinking any more.
