A small Florida police department decided “enough is enough” in the epidemic of street takeovers sweeping the U.S. and used internet intelligence and preparation to prevent an unsanctioned event at a local ocean pier.
The St. Augustine area police department used electronic monitoring to identify the planned “teen takeover” and were ready before it descended into chaos.
The takeover was scheduled for mid-afternoon Thursday, according to a flyer obtained by the department.
“Pull up. Turn Up. Take over,” it read.
The department stamped a “cancelled” across the flyer and pumped it out on social media. The preparation was the result of a group effort with local agencies, the chief said.

Leftists with the “No Kings” group are planning a concert event on President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday, June 14th, which the organization painted as “reclaiming patriotism.”
“As America approaches its 250th anniversary, we have a choice about what story we tell. We can let strongman politics and corruption define the moment. Or we can make the story of America about people coming together — across race, background, identity, belief, and community — to defend our rights and build a future rooted in people power,” its website read, adding, “On June 14, we rise up, we sing out, and we keep organizing.”
The leftist group said it is planning a Rise Up, Sing Out concert event at the Town Hall in New York City. The gathering will feature Rufus Wainwright, Bette Midler, Patti Smith, Sasha Allen, Joy Reid, and Jane Fonda.
Ship trackers said on Thursday that two more tankers were able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz with their transponders turned off. One ship is headed for India, while the other is bound for China.
The ship headed for India is the Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) Nissos Keros, flagged to the Marshall Islands and chartered by Swiss-based trading company Vitol.
The ship is carrying 1.8 million barrels of crude oil from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is headed for India’s port of Visakhapatnam, which is the location of a refinery owned by Hindustan Petroleum, a subsidiary of India’s state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation.
The other ship is a liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker called Hua Lin Wan, sailing under the Chinese flag and operated by China’s state-owned COSCO shipping corporation. The tanker is carrying a cargo of naphtha from Kuwait, and is scheduled to arrive at China’s port of Huizhou in about two weeks.

The Trump administration has continued to debunk criticisms of the Reflecting Pool restoration process. The establishment media has been one of the worst offenders, penning articles picking apart the shade of blue chosen for the bottom of the pool and more. The Washington Post ran to a “color consultant” who believes the shade will look “very dismal.” The New York Times also targeted the improvements made to the pool.
Interior Secretary Doug Burgum pointed out that former President Obama’s administration closed the Reflecting Pool for two years, spending a whopping $38 million attempting to repair it, and yet did not do the job. President Trump’s fix is comprehensive and included draining the pool, sand blasting, repairing all of the pipes and bubblers, and restoring the color. The bottom of the pool, Burgum explained, had turned gray, and Trump chose American flag blue as the bottom color.
