If it sounds crazy, realize that it's generally symbolic, not literal. We live in a simulation as in everything is controlled. The fights we have, the heroes we worship, the villains we hate. It's all a show.

Personally, I think this part is awesome. But I can see how it would freak people out.

I don't know about 99% but if the public were to realise that every piece of media they've ever consumed is actually code for the pedo rings that run the world, that every company has a criminal dark side, that all their heroes are blackmailed with child sex, and that they've been completely controlled their entire lives by these people it would probably traumatize many. 99% seems high though, maybe Q was just exaggerating.
