Some of you may remember the story of my Hoppy chicken that was run over and my husband thought she was dead and put her in the incinerator bin only for me to find her 2 days later alive and clucking at me. Well after weeks of being crated ,fed ,watered she started laying again and I've let her out into my enclosed yard today and I'm pleased to say she's not limping and her wing seems fine and she's scratching around and having a great time out there. Sometimes you just need a little faith, patience and care and they come good. I'm also trying my luck at hatching out some eggs in the incubator so hopefully have some little chicks in 14 days or so. It's day 7 today that they've been in there.
Fractal is correct. Victoria had terrible lockdowns. Perth had a couple in the metro area but we did have regional borders where we couldn't travel from one region to another without a permit. Ridiculous that I ould travel 200;km away but not 50km to the next town because it was in a different region.
I'm in total shock. Day before yesterday the girl that's staying here ran over one of my chickens. Hubby rang me at work said she's dead ,I've put her in the rubbish bin ( one that we use for incineration.) I was quite upset as Hoppy as I call her was my favourite chicken. Anyway I just clipped all my dogs ears ready for summer as grass seeds are a pest around the farm and they get them in their ears and went to empty the vacuumed up dog hair into the bin. I opened the lid and the chook is clucking and staring at me from the bottom of the bin. I said to hubby what's this chook ,he said what chook ,I said the one in the bin,he said it's dead ,I said no it ain't it's clucking at me. So I got her out , gave her food and water and put her in the crate separate from the other chooks. She must have been in shock not dead. Thank you God for saving my Hoppy . I still can't believe it.

My dad had emphysema. Long time before the shots came out so I can't comment on that but it wouldn't surprise me. He worked in the coal mines as a youngster before my parents moved to Australia and coal dust was still detected in his lungs 28 yrs later. He eventually ended up on an oxygen bottle. The walls of the alveolar break down in the lungs so it reduces the oxygen carrying capacity. Best wishes to your mum.
Love watching the Clydies. I watch the Clydies ads on YouTube. I was fortunate to work with a Clydesdale team for a brewery back in the early 90's. Best job I ever had was working with these beautiful animals day in day out :)
I look after my daughters Aussie Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) permanently as she works away. He's a smart dog. He loves working cattle ,rounds the chooks up and puts them in their pen for the night. He loves water ,if I take him down the paddock he will jump in the water troughs or the dam. Very loyal and protective dog.
I agree,I like your idea but I don't think it's just men. I think it's more people feel they need to contribute. I'm helping an older lady out of a dv situation at the moment. She isn't in a position to pay me anything for staying here ,which I didn't want anyway but she feels she has to contribute, so I said she could cook some dinners ( she's a brilliant cook and loves cooking) and do some gardening as she likes gardening. Personally I'm just glad she's had the courage finally leave but it makes her happy and gives her some self esteem.
