Aww thank you. I didn't post about it for praise ,it was mainly to say the simple things we do which might be easy for us but difficult for someone else can make the difference to someone's day. Thanks for your kind words.

Look into Olive leaf extract. Can get the tablets or the liquid. I use the liquid. Great for inflammation and antioxidant properties Even better if you can get it with Moringa leaf. MSM is another supplement that can help with arthritis.A teaspoon once or twice a day of the OLF and start with a 1/4 teaspoon of MSM then gradually increase. Hope your mum finds something that gives her some relief.

Thank you. I was just sad to see her so stressed . I can't understand why the vet nurse didn't offer to do it for her when she rang. Glad I could help her and relieve some of the stress as it's obvious she loves the old dog very much.

Had a lady come through my work today and she was quite stressed as she took her dog to the vet yesterday and they gave her tablets for her and she couldn't get her to take them. She rang the vet and no vet in town today. I said go get her bring her in and I'll give them to her for you. So off she went home ,got the dog brought it back ,I give it the tablets no problem, told her to bring her in every day and I'll give them to her for her. Anyway off she goes ,comes back ten minutes later with the loveliest gift for me. I said you didn't need to do that I was happy to help but thank you, that's very kind . Was just so pleased to see the relief on her face because the old dog has had its medication as she was so stressed with her not having it. :)

I'm on acreage too. Closest neighbour is about 200 acre away. I've got lots of tree banks so my house isn't visible from the road, just the way I like it. Only time I see my neighbour is if we're both pulling out of our driveways at the same time or if I go over to help them with a horse or they need something done with my tractor. They're great neighbours, friendly but not intrusive.

Thank you. The rental situation in the state is pretty dire at the moment and more people are relocating to the country towns because they can't find rentals in the city so finding somewhere is very difficult and I understand that. I don't mind helping someone out as long as they abide by the property simple rules such as not leaving gates open and not running the power down but I am taking your advice on board and will have a rethink. Thanks , appreciate it.

Can say that again ! Lol . Maybe I'm just getting cranky as I'm getting older. She's a nice kid ,I just think sometimes she's off in her own little world and doesn't hear a thing anyone says. Just trying to make things a tad easier for her as she hasn't had it very easy so far in her life but tonight she just frustrated me. Probably didn't help I had a crappy day at work. Tomorrow is another day :)

Try the heated throws for warmth ,they're great and don't use as much power as an electric heater.

So I have a young lass currently staying in my granny flat out back on the farm. I said she could stay whilst she got herself sorted as she had the opportunity of a job in the town where I live. Anyway I have an electric hot water system in the flat that we switch on about half hour before wanting a shower and then switch it off as it draws a fair bit of power and we are on stand alone solar. Suited us as we've only previously used the flat for visitors that come to stay the weekend. I have a monitoring system on the solar so I can keep an eye on the battery level when I'm not home ( I can access it from anywhere ). Anyway come 5.30 pm I see it's chewing a heap of power from the grid and it's half hour until sundown ,so I messaged her and said did you forget to turn it off. No she says I switched it on so I could have a shower tonight. I explained to her when she started staying there a week ago that if she wanted a shower in the evening she would need to go over the house as it is on gas. Well last thing I needed was to finish work at 7 pm and come home and stuff around with a genset to get some power in my batteries so I don't run out of power overnight . Why don't people ever listen !!!! I also don't charge her rent or anything to stay there ,was just trying to do a kind thing so she could get on her feet . Very grumpy tonight and I don't like being grumpy.Sorry for the rant I'm just over people today.

Compression stockings or socks work wonders.I've had jobs where I've been on my feet all day and I found these really helped. Congratulations on your new job ,hope it goes well for you.

No ivm for horses is too strong for dogs. If your dog has worms and an itchy bottom I'd be using a wormer with praziquantal in it . Iver won't eradicate some worms,it's why they add praziquantal to someone horse wormers with iver. The itchiness could also be caused by grass allergies if he's going out on the grass to do his business.Try mixing some alpha keri oil in some water or use coconut oil and sponge on the coat to stop the itching. One of my cavaliers gets itchy with grass pollens in summer and I sponge her coat after she been outside.

A doctor told me many years ago when my daughter was little and ran fevers all the time with bouts of tonsillitis ,to boil some pearl barley ,strain and cool and drink the liquid. It worked for her. Might be worth trying, certainly won't do any harm anyway. Hope he gets better soon.

Oh and only mix what you intend to use immediately or it ends up with a very strong smell.
