I'm sorry, can someone explain the significance of 1700 to me? I'm not getting it.

I'm pretty sure a bunch of them were just seen leaving Twitters offices...

Very interesting find! One thing to add: the reason why roth probably uses underscores is that underscore is used in the markdown format to emphasize text. Markdown was co-developed by Aaron Swartz.

Awesome blurb! Looking forward to digging into the filings when I have the time this weekend. Till then hoping to find some more good write ups. This case is gonna be really interesting to watch - massive implications.

have to be made public.

I'm sorry, but that's simply not true. Evidence can be placed under seal, even for indefinite periods. Courts try to avoid doing this but it's especially common if the case involves allegedly classified material or if the evidence is involved in other ongoing cases.

This case was pretty straight forward, I highly doubt it was intended to be some 5-D chess move. Trumps team asked for a special master to be appointed to protect his privileged materials. Pretty sensible move, if a bit unusual. The judge initially granted it but after some legal fighting, the judge has basically undone everything and it's more or less like it never happened.

It seems like Trumps team is choosing not to fight it, probably because it's not essential at the end of the day.

Trump doesn't need the court at all. He can release the materials any time he wants since he declassified them. If he hasn't so far it's because he's chosen not to...simple as that.
