Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but there's much better ammo now than during the years I progressed to late-stage neurological Lyme. Caution: stay away from the Marshall Protocol, which assisted me in becoming permanently disabled.

If had it to do all over again and had just been diagnosed, I'd study up on using Ivermectin before trying antibiotics (see comment by 20-guage). The IVM route won't cause harm, but might require keeping your doctor out of the loop for awhile. Even LLMDs (Lyme literate doctors) might not be up on anti-parasitic options that appear to be curing all kinds of maladies, incuding Lyme. Good luck and try to stay positive and proactive, though I know how difficult that can be!

Interesting info, Thank you. I have late-stage Lyme, and have a pretty bad neurological herx whenever I take Hydroxychloroquine for a cold virus. Lymies already know that such undesirable side effects are a good sign, if we can tolerate the process!

The only thing we found online was the apple flavored gel (about $5 per tube). It's meant for horses, dispensed in divided doses for 250-pound animals (or in this case: people). We purchased Bimectin brand on recommendation of a rancher here on GAW. He said it didn't taste great, but it was effective, and like other livestock gel formulas, it's 1.87 Ivermectin. We haven't used it yet -- keeping in the cabinet for emergency use.

Our Tractor Supply keeps Ivermectin gel behind locked cabinets, with warning signs "NOT for human consumption" and other warnings. So we ordered it from Amazon!

We lived through a cicada storm in Northern Virginia -- summer of '87. It really was like a nightmare plague -- the hissing, clacking noise, and thousands of dumb, blind insects as big as baby hummingbirds flying into everyone's faces. Virginians said it would be worse in 17 years, but we were able to escape the DC area before the next invasion.

Thanks again!

Just had an interesting experience. Went to Tractor Supply, and a warning sign said “anyone buying Ivermectin products for uses other than livestock would be “reported.”

We didn’t get photos, but another warning, taped to the LOCKED cabinet, said “products containing Ivermectin are NOT safe for humans and could cause injury or death!”

So we bought it on Amazon!

Thanks for the information!

Could you clarify if the 250-pound dose is appropriate for a person weighing less than 250 pounds? Also: if only a portion of the syringe is used, will the rest of the gel stay good for a later dose?

Strongly recommend you skip Hawaii and re-route your anniversary trip. We have family who just left their home in Maui for good because of Covid Nazis everywhere, especially at the airport. Relatives are so relieved to be out of there. Hawaii would be a hell of a place this Spring to try to celebrate such an important event in your life!
