Yes, it's clear to me that murdering an innocent, defenseless human being is morally reprehensible

Nope. Damage from the collapsed towers coupled with a massive fire fed by a diesel tank in the lower floors did.

If explosives brought down the towers and 7, why go to the trouble of fabricating a massive red herring cover-up involving thousands of people, from eyewitnesses, passengers, airline workers, ATC personnel, etc when it would be much simpler and neater to say terrorists planted bombs? I mean, they already tried in '93, it's not like it'd be far fetched.

Controlled demolitions are loud as fuck. They involve dozens upon dozens of explosives planted all throughout the structure of the building. They sound similar to the finale of a good fireworks show. I and many thousands of people certainly didn't hear any explosions, sans the jets hitting the towers.

None of this precludes the theory of an inside job, by the way. I tend to think black hats knew about it and let it happen.

Oh for fucks sake, you damn well know that abortions due to rape, incest, etc are exceedingly rare. The other commenter is right- 99% of abortions are out of convenience. And it's probably a much higher percentage that that. Don't want kids? Too poor for them? Then DON'T FUCK. Christ, it's not that fucking complicated. Rub one out. Buy a toy. Try anal. Whatever floats your boat. The internet has plenty of options to help get your rocks off. Abortion is almost never justifiable. Even if rape or incest are involved, that human being has done nothing to deserve death.

ETA: not trying to bite your head off or call you out personally here, my friend, I just get frustrated with this issue because it's so clear to me

We hold these truths to be self-evident. That all men are created equal, and are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights...

You and I have no idea how things may have played out if abortion was never legalized.

How many geniuses out of those aborted millions might we have/had from then til today? How may have it affected subjective morality from then til now?

This is where the crux of the argument lies. But it makes even conservatives uncomfortable to put it that baldly for some reason.

Put the ball in the pro-abort's court. "Science says you're killing a unique human being. Does that being have no rights?"

Maybe. The GOP plays this game a lot. They grandstand and tilt at windmills about issues they know are popular with their base but have no chance of passing, then are silent when they actually might have the votes.

I suspect Rand is a good dude, but this could just as easily be theater

Possibly the best dialogue of the entire series:

Q: "What could I possibly do to convince you people??"

Worf: "Die."

Q: "Oh, very clever, Worf. Eat any good books lately?"

Laugh my ass off every time!

Yeah, I expected it for awhile now.

But it hit me hard. Sat there crying on my 4 wheeler for a solid 10 minutes halfway through plowing snow.

Did not expect that.

I get your point, and I agree with it, but I think you've missed mine.

Governments don't grant us rights. Our rights are God-given and inalienable. Just because our Constitution wrote it in as a guarantee doesn't mean everyone around the world don't have the same rights.

The question is whether people act on it and practice those rights

Vox_Dobad 2 points ago +2 / -0

Just a slight correction for you, if I may.

Everyone on earth has the same God/Creator-given rights. Governments may protect those or infringe on those, but we all have them.

They are not given to us by the Constitution; the Constitution was established to protect them. It may sound like semantics to some, but it's a very important distinction

And it's one of the few areas of government where I would support zero base budgeting.

Far too much of govt is run that way
