Tough question. The normal thing is to flippantly discard them, especially when you have first hand knowledge and they have something distinctly lesser (or nothing at all!). Perhaps the more "considerate" thing is to potentially hear them out anyway, on the slim chance that you have been fooled/misled.

It is my view that belief is the enemy of knowledge. It has no place in it, and is directly across purposes to it as well as the potential for objective study of any kind (it is often called by another name - bias) When we identify belief in our knowledge, we must excise it in order to truly study the world we live in (not our imagined/encouraged delusions thereof)

Who is to say for certain what the limits of human consciousness are? Many believe there is something to "astral projection" and it may not be completely impossible to "see" such things.
Is it vastly more likely that that conclusion and vision was a construct of your own mind - yes, absolutely. Is there any repeatable demonstration of such "psychic" power available? No, no there most certainly is not - and this is worth taking note of. The ones that have been tested rigorously have been thoroughly demonstrated to be frauds (uri gellar comes to mind, and now admits that he is an entertainer - not a wizard). You may want to learn about spiritualism of the 19th century, and houdini's crusade against them (which began merely as a desperate attempt to contact his dead mother whom he loved and missed intensely). Studying magic (smoke and mirrors) is extremely valuable to any independent researcher, and I highly recommend penn and teller, and to a lesser extent the amazing randi.
