Pro prepper tip: always buy foods you would normally eat anyways. That way if shit doesn't hit the fan you're not wasting your prep, and you don't take it away from someone else. (Also, don't tell IRL friends/neighbors about your prep or you'll be Target #1 when SHTF.)
Just some (hopefully) helpful tips from an east coast resident who's dealt with a few hurricanes.
I mostly eat fresh food, so it was difficult to only buy stuff I normally eat lol
I bought rice and beans as the base because I know I can eat them regardless of what happens even if it takes a year to work through the amount I got hahahaha. I also got a ton of flour and yeast so I can make my own bread/tortillas (generator) And then canned fruits and veggies that I like
And I don't know any of my neighbors, so no one knows lol.
Oh, another thing my husband got for us were straws with built in filters. They can last up to a year and you can literally drink straight from a lake and it will filter 99.9% of bacteria out of the water. I think everyone should own one of these straws. You can make it 30+ days without food..... Only 3 days without water.
I've got a cupboard with cans of food
Filtered water, and pictures of you
And I'm not coming out until this is all over
And I'm looking through the glass
Where the light bends at the cracks
And I'm screaming at the top of my lungs
Pretending the echoes belong to someone
Someone I used to know
[Chorus]
And we become
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go
[Verse 2]
I wanted to walk through the empty streets
And feel something constant under my feet
But all the news reports recommended that I stay indoors
Because the air outside will make
Our cells divide at an alarming rate
Until our shells simply cannot hold all our insides in
And that's when we'll explode
And it won't be a pretty sight
[Chorus]
And we'll become
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go
And we'll become (And we'll become, and we'll become)
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go
And we'll become (And we'll become, and we'll become)
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go
And we'll become (And we'll become, and we'll become)
Silhouettes when our bodies finally go
[Outro]
(And we'll become, and we'll become
And we'll become, and we'll become)
One thing keeps popping into my head when I hear about having water, food, etc stored...what about the old in nursing homes?, Or the hospitals? There are people who depend on power at their homes to run critical machines to keep them alive...Is anyone looking after them?
Yes...We have people prepared to render aide to places within the community...God will send his people who He has enlightened to do this type of work...We have our insight and instructions.
Check on your neighbors though especially if elderly, disabled or needy. Many are unaware of any of this! No clue whatsoever so there will be shock and confusion. Be kind and patient. Share the knowledge and instill hope that this is going to better our world. Help whomever comes in need and you will be Blessed! Once this is over we must be prepared to examine ourselves and do better.
Hospitals have backup generators... if you're ever in an inpatient area / ER, you'll see red plug sockets (or something along those lines) for critical machinery (ventilators).
no hes just pushing the narrative he's seen on facebook. like my post a while ago. normies are freaking out and shit hasn't even been presented yet. everyone just feels something is off.
At this point I am trying to figure out how to hook a generator up to my main & which 50A breaker to pick up for it.
This will be biblical & I want to keep my laundry clean, my popcorn salted, with a good dose of AM station scanning & my family warm as I read them the Chronicles of Q along side scriptural passages. I should probably keep the fridge & fireplace going too, because 'Baby it's Cold Outside....'
Thank you for the wholesome post. Sounds very comfy cozy.
As for the electrical work, I’d consult a licensed electrician or YouTube. Either or, don’t matter.
Preppers gonna prep. These are the people urging you to stock up on beans, rice and bottled water every time it snows or whatever.
Somebody explain to me why arresting a bunch of commies requires the power grid to be down for any length of time. A short power outage means you have to worry about refrigerated food going bad, but that is about it. Most of these outages have lasted the better part of a day.
But be sure to run out and hoard enough toilet paper for several months, just in case.
I think the fear is that the deep state/china will set off EMPs to prevent the American people from seeing what's going on. Or maybe to facilitate going into hiding/escaping???
No idea. I went ahead and got some stuff. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Because it would be better to stay at home if there are riots and such. It could be far worse, too. Not necessarily power outages but there may be a stay at home order, also people panic and buy up everything anyway. Wouldn’t it be better to be home and avoid the chaos especially near big cities? Antifa and Blm are real threats. When Floyd happened, even Tampa had riots, fires, looting etc in pockets of areas near Univ. S. Fl. The entire county had curfews, Walmart’s shut down early. It was concerning. This will be worse. Get stuff. Plan to stay at home if they advise it.
he's not a congressman
He hasn't even won a single primary
James Dickens FOR Congress it's in the damn title
Get it together OP
I rushed, sorry
Gotta make a useless comment and sound like a sour bitch because well, ur a sour bitch
You sound very sour right now. Next time vet your post, pretty easy.
Looked more plain sarcastic than sour sarcasm.
Will do. Thanks hoopinsour
**edit: Mr. Dickens is NOT a congressman, only a losing candidate. Message is still interesting.

Yeah, scroll down on the FB page and see who his source is... CodeMonkeyZ.
LOL
I got a cabinet full of ramen, a wood stove, a well, and a generator. I'm good.
We just bought a generator, too.
Everywhere around us is out of propane! Which is crazy. I bought tons of rice, beans, bottled water, canned goods, and some basic survival stuff.
I don't know if anything is going to affect me over here, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Sounds like you did great! I've been researching a (very tiny) bit and those were the two big takeaways I've seen.
Stay safe, fren!
Thank you friend! You stay safe, yourself <3

popcorn
Oh I got a ton of popcorn, too! I have an air popper, so I bought a huge tub of kernels :)
Us too! All of this!

Omg. That brought me back to the good ole days (highschool). Can't go wrong with the postal service. :)

Sure, Cuomo, Witmer, Gavin Newsome are watching out for old folks everywhere.
Ouch ...
TY I did forget about that scumbag.
There were 5 Govs that put Covid infected patients back into old folk homes.
They likely have generators and are given some priority (yes, storm, except for some states).
My hope is that the NG and FEMA would take care of the sick & frail should something go down.

Sounds like we’re expecting a storm...
He lost, he's not a congressmen just was a candidate.
But still, a bit interesting :)
Maybe he won but Dominion didn't like him....
If the shit goes down I sure hope a good old fashioned radio (your car, or maybe a battery operated) will keep us posted.

You are very welcome & I am now simply waiting for the advice from a pretty qualified electrician. Excited to see how this rolls out.
There us an FAA Flight Restriction For Honolulu jan 17th - 18th Type: Security https://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_1_4699.html
Is he trying to cause a panic? why not just send out the missles inbound alert again if thats what you want.

If there is an EMP we are fucked beyond all recognition. Just sayin.
We bought a generator and tons of non perishable food and water just in case.
Better safe than sorry.
I think I like your username. And that’s good.
Thanks :)
Power outage for that long would mean no cell/internet/csble/etc. Full communications blackout. An ironic 'reset' to the way society works?
Eyes to see/ears to hear types will have prepped for it. Big changes coming for sure.
