They are supposed to be deployed to the DC armory.
Hard to say - the general grooming and press of the uniforms says military.
But then the uniforms are shiny, like they have never seen the sun or the dust. (maybe you get dont get the same sun we get down here - but a couple of weeks in the bush, and its all faded to desert yellow)
Just the bearing seems completely un-military.
Maybe they are just support guys running the BBQ or something.
But then Ive seen other vids on the same channel with similar shiny uniformed dudes with M4s - the helmets are all on crooked, and they don't seem to know how to hold a rifle.
No disrespect, because everyone serves in their own way ... but looking at these troopies is a real worry. They are supposed be issuing these guys with live ammo and giving them auth to use lethal force.
This is wrong. These guys are more civilian than military, I don't know how anyone could possibly trust them with lethal force rules of engagement.
It doesn't surprise me if a unit of Medical National Guard are issued new uniforms when they are sent on a true deployment. You will be dressed for the accession.
Have a look at some of the other vids and see the NG dudes with M4s.
The problem I have is that "reports" are that they are being issued with live ammo, and given auth to use lethal force. I am concerned that such green troops should be issued live ammo and lethal rules of engagement in a civil context.
I can, they are medical soldiers. Not going to be your fighting soldiers. The all had MED patches on their sleeves.
Fair call. Good answer.
Check out some of the other vids on the same channel showing similar looking NG issued with M4s. Then it starts to be a problem for me.
In the US military we call these members of the "Air Force." They ride bikes for their PT test.
Haha love it, in my armed forces when the Air force deploy they are forced to stay in 4 star hotels instead of 5 stars!
Thats probs because your 5 star hotels are currently at full capacity. You know why too.
I'll shut up before I get this thread into hot water :)
Lol Roger that!
The US military, isn't the Australian Military, you have to remember.
You know how hard it is to get into the Aus Military. It's not the same for the US.
So if you think they look... not right, maybe? Then that could be why.
Uh... and they're Airforce lol... Chairforce.
Fair call.
NG is not the reserves though is it ? Is it something else ?
Are NG units supposed to be combat ready ? Dunno how it works over there.
NG belong to the states so they are not even as trained up as active reserves are. Most of the time the training they do is pretty lax.
NG are known as weekend warriors. They are more of a civilian assistance force than a fighting force.
ETA: They train two weeks a year and one weekend a month.
Actors? I dunno... What's the context on these? They are in a arena?

Haha, well there's 25,000 troops there. Wouldn't judge them based on whatever this one clip is all about. And the cavalry hasn't even arrived yet.
We are issued new uniforms for overseas deployment (at least I was)
True, but they are stateside. Also, considering their ranks, they won’t be getting dirty.
Don't panic, Captain Mainwaring!
I remember that show growing up in Scotland. So glad I'm here helping get our freedom back.
Me too , grew up north of England. Lived in the states since 1980
That is the Plus size division of National Guard.
haha - yeah, we got plenty of those as well mate :)

Hey OP, REMFs mate?
1st POG Bn, Royal Corps of REMFs
They'd be the ones with a chest full of shiny at the Crown and Anchor on Anzac Day.
I think you are right.
Possible army Corp engineers or something regarding medical and/or logistics
The point of a strong military is the bigger it is the less likely you will have to use it. This is just a show of force. There will be no civil war.
So many new uniforms being worn at once, all in the same shot(s) .
Thats cool, no probs with that.

What about you ?
Air National Guard. There is a difference.
