The swearing in is (typically) at the Capitol but then the President and family go to the White House and they sit in a glassed-in room on Pennsylvania Ave and watch a parade and performers.
If this was built for the inauguration, which was at the capitol, why was this built weeks ago and still standing? Not being a jerk. Poster has legitimate question that hasn't been answered yet unless you're 100% serious. I looked it up on line and can find nothing.
They build that for the media cameras to see over the Whitehouse fence. I'm pretty sure it's a purpose built fixture just for the media cameras every 4yrs.
