The emergency signal went off on my phone last night at 11:27 pm. I was in a dead sleep, so I jumped up running around the room yelling” it’s happening”. When I finally found my phone, I was disappointed to see it was an Amber Alert. I would much rather have criminals being arrested than some poor child to go missing.

All the MSM outlets are owned by larger corporations so they can be run at a loss if they serve a useful purpose. Don't really need to be profitable if they are being bankrolled for nefarious reasons. They probably get some money from the ad revenue, and then that's supplemented from elsewhere. Just a guess.

Theory: dems know that Trump is still the sitting President or will be declared as the election winner, so the argument of not trying Trump bc he is a private citizen is null and void. Shouldn’t his defense rather be based on the fact that a. There was no actual “insurrection”, and B. That whatever happened on the 6th was not incited by him and/or they can’t even prove that it was Trump supporters causing the problems. Or, maybe this question about constitutionality is just for this phase, and if it proceeds they will advance other defenses. Please disprove my theory. Thanks

Hi, long time lurker here. I couldn't stop wondering about this question so I made an account. Should convicting after impeachment be unconstitutional? Not here, this is obviously a sham trial put on by the DS to punish patriots. I'm talking about if democracy was working as intended. What if (god hoping it wont) biden stays the whole term, and then embezzles a ton of money from the gov right before leaving office. It wouldn't be good precedent to say we wouldn't be able to hold trial for him. IDK, I'm torn. Definitely not supporting this embarrassment but I'm wondering if convicting someone after leaving office is actually unconstitutional

it would go to a criminal conviction of a citizen not a president. Impeahcment just removes them from office and ensures they cant hold office again - but it doesnt punish them for a crime.

There will be lying in the form of speeches, a lot of chest beating and hurray for our side. In the end the Senate will fail to convict (again), and both sides will claim victory. Democrats will try to figure out some other ways to hurt Trump. While Republicans will sit on their fingers and wiggle them.
The "hearing" was that illegal wankery they pulled in the House. This Senate proceeding is a "trial," unfortunately.

Elections aren't fair. We all know that. An impeachment of a private citizen is unconstitutional. We all know that. What recourse is there? The military must step in and take control of the government, establish fair elections, and hold a new election with paper ballots, in-person voting, voter IDs, etc. IMO this is what we're being shown.

Just a couple of things--
45 wasn't impeached as a sitting president. the house voted to impeach and that died once it got to the senate.
Belknap wasn't impeached either-- the house voted to impeach and the senate couldn't muster up the 2/3 majority. He was acquitted.
The difference here is that he resigned while the impeachment process was taking place. The senate continued the process after he resigned.
The rules aren't vague when it comes to a private citizen.

Yes. My best friend was a Cambodian refugee who actually made it to Viet Nam... it took him 40 years to be able to travel to see his mother in Cambodia. He died at only 53, 6 months after he saw his mother.
I had a former coworker (I'm retired now) who was a VN refugee. came to the US via a shitty boat to Thailand with 40 other people. One of the most based people I know because he knows all about communism and that sort of evil.
My friend was separated from his fam in Cambodia and immigrated to the UK and then Canada before arriving in the US. He had a lot of based stuff to say about Mao and communism.
