I too was very fortunately adopted from two wonderful parents from another Country when I was three years old. They gave me such a slim opportunity to have a much better life and future that I certainly wouldn't have had had I not been adopted. The left would hate me even more account of where I was born. Way to go! My mom was a legal immigrant. Spanish by birth, but was living in Germany. My dad was in the army and met her when he was stationed over there. They got married when she was 16, and they came back to the United States to live. She became a citizen when I was little and earned her high school diploma through correspondence. I still remember going into their room and seeing her working on her homework in the evenings.
She couldn't stand people coming here illegally. She worked so hard and went through so much to be here and to become a citizen. She learned the language, etc. It irritated her to see people just coming over here and breaking all the rules.
You have achieved the American dream. Next up, marriage, a home and children. But please don't get into debt up to your eyeballs for a house. I have a feeling you're too smart for that, anyway. Congrats on your achievements, and welcome.

5 1/2 years. I came to NYC, but didn't like it and moved to Philly with grandma. I started working on factories and in restaurants until I was able to save to pay for English classes. After that I kept on working and enrolled in college, kept on climbing from job to job until I got a well-stable one, got married and bought a house. So, I went from a below the poverty to a low middle class in 5 1/2 years, my husband grew up in North-philly (worse of the worse) and grew up with me in the social ladder.
This country is built from legal immigrants who brought the best of their cultures with them to assimilate into our culture for the best of both. Even the hated Whites are immigrants or descended from immigrants.
It's so sick that the left paints us as not wanting immigrants here. We not only love and support immigration we understand the need for educated people accross the world to contribute to our country! It's a pleasure to be alongside you! Two years away from my bachelor's, congratulations on your hard work - you deserve it.
This is great!!! You know, it’s your willpower and faith that mostly drove you to achieve your goals. You truly wanted it so you got it. On the other hand, those who are not motivated and lack the self discipline are quick to blame the system... remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease... these people cry and complain so the only way to shut them up is, unfortunately, to cater to them... congratulations with your achievements and thank god you are not falling into that oppression trap.
