Hello all,
My father is in the hospital in north FL due to post covid pneumonia. He feels fine, managed the covid and the fevers and all the symptoms at home, now just short of breath. Went to Hospital today, staff took X-ray and put him on oxygen. Also giving him steroids as the antibiotics didn’t work (viral pneumonia vs bacterial pneumonia)
We are obviously more worried about the fact that the hospitals are a for profit entity and possibly value the $60,000 covid death more than my fathers life. Although it is north Florida, which is mostly republicans...
As a precaution, and other than calling 24/7, what should we be doing to make sure the hospital is not playing around with my fathers life?
What have you (person in this situation) done when your loved one was in the hospital related to covid?
Prayers welcome
P.S. the good news is that he wasn’t admitted as a covid symptom patient rather it’s the pneumonia for the reason for being admitted... obviously due to Covid
As a Floridian with a background in the medical field I can tell you right now you are in good hands, as a state that caters to senior citizens, forgive me for assuming if your father is not elderly. Pneumonia is common in the elderly, I know bacterial is way easier to treat than viral though. Probably use steroids to speed up healing, maybe something like lasix to keep fluid out of the lungs. I will send prayers for you and your father, but I believe that you are in the best state possible to come out on top.
Thank you fren, I feel the same... if it was NY or CA, I’d be MUCH more worried. Covid symptoms are done, just the viral pneumonia is left
The city I live in has one of the top 100 hospitals, also to my north, Tampa general is one of the top 100, Florida has top quality care, considering we're known as Gods waiting room ?
Haha that’s true. Yea I’d be more worried if we were in CA, NY, NJ, IL, etc
Praying now, pede.
Thank you
?
Thank you
My husband was in the hospital a month ago with the newest mutation of Covid-19. Make sure they are giving him Remdesivir, vitamin D, zinc, and vitamin C. Vitamin D is really important, as it helps protect him against a cytokine storm. Many people do not understand that Covid can cause both viral and bacterial pneumonia. My husband had bilateral pneumonia and sepsis from Covid, but with Remdesivir he quickly recovered. He only spent five days in the hospital.
Whoa, Remdesivir actually works?
Same with my dad! Remdesivir is a miracle.
Great information!! Thanks a bunch! I’ll call the doctors/nurses and make sure they’re giving my father all the treatment he requires before they even think about starting their TikTok dance videos
My dad was hospitalized in Michigan for COVID. They took great care of him, but I called him multiple times per day asking what they were doing, what meds, etc. just to make sure nothing hinky was going on.
Thank you, I am doing the same... if they have time to make TikTok dance vids they have to to take extra care of my father
Prayers for your Dad and family?
Also praying for your family! I would just keep up with his oxygen levels and make sure they don't over it to! Don't take s doctor's word do research yourself and get multiple opinions from respected people. Hope things get better soon and he leaves that place.
Thank you! Yes I have been consulting with my close friends in the medical field. But the tension is mostly with my liberal sibling from NYC, a “covid know it all”. Will continue following the medical field advice though, just wish I didn’t have this additional stress
???????
Will they not allow you to visit your father? We were allowed to visit for one hour per day -one person only- but at least we were able to check that everything was done as we wanted etc....Praying for your family!
I’m in TX, they do allow my mother to visit. I’m sure if I went there they’d let me see him. Thank you for the prayers!
if your father has the flu have him drink raw milk dont let them give him anything flus are actually just the body cleansing so he will be fine if he doesnt take anything from a doctor etc that will not help. The more dense nutrtition he consumes of bio a available nutrition the shorter the flu will last. Research Aajonus Vonderplanitz on flus and colds.
You’re not there? At the hospital with him? Somebody needs to be with him 24 seven. If they say you can’t go in, then tell them you’ll take a Covid test. There are places you can get them for $100 and it’s a 15 minute test. And then the doctor gives you a paper. There are ways around that she just have to be very assertive. Don’t we here I’m alone in a hospital EVER covid or no Covid people are stupid, I took care of my dad for three years before he died. The stupidity of doctors is amazing
Yea I’m in Texas while my father is in FL. Only my parents left in FL while siblings elsewhere. Mother in hospital with father. We’re all calling consistently
Most hospitals have your father's best interest at heart. If he's diagnosed as COVID each procedure or item that is billed will be reimbursed more to the hospital. Believe it or not he's worth more alive.
The problem with COVID is that it may not kill you but it can really jack you up. I've seen people have lung scarring and younger healthy people still short of breath after having it months ago.
Your dad is out of the phase where ivermectin or Hydoxychloroquine would help. Steroids, oxygen for starters, convalescent plasma would be the next step.
Hopefully they'll give him good care and he'll do well. Prayers
Thank you. His covid symptoms are virtually gone, just the pneumonia remaining. Steroids and oxygen is what he’s taking at the moment
Praying for your dad. ??
Prayers for your dad. I have a friend for whom Covid was just like a bad cold and she recovered quickly, but she got the post-c pneumonia and was a pain.
Be strong Fren?? God has a plan for all of us. Let the hospital know you watching him closely. Ask and document all medications, procedures and anything else they do to him. Ask why they are doing it. Make sure they know you have a close eye on him. Be kind to the staff.
