No fun here. Our electric lines are above ground and collapse under the weight of ice and snow. Our homes and businesses are not equipped to handle such cold weather. No road clearing equipment and only a few salt spreaders. Not good at all!
Man, nothing down here is ready for anything below 20 temps!
Our houses are drafty. Our power are pulled too tight. Our transformers freeze. Salt the road? Ha! Our road are built for rain!! A fraction of an inch of ice will slide you into the ditch!! And our tires go rock hard below 30. Our water lines are only a foot in the ground, so they freeze. ... Basically everything you need to deal with a cold winter, we don't have.
To be fair the climate was completely stable and unchanging for 4.5B years until humans came along and built their first factory. There weren't even seasons until then. I don't even think there was rain. Nothing but clear blue skies and rainbows. (Yes, no rain, but lots of rainbows. Don't aske me how, its just how it was.)
We got almost a foot in Mid-Michigan between 10pm last night and 4am today. I haven't seen that kind of snow in a couple years. Makes me wish I still had my snowmobile.
This is fun watching you guys deal with a real winter for once.

Lol it happens every 5 years or so, it’s not like our FiRsT TiMe eVeR
Remember '93, never forget lol.
Don’t worry. When we are comfortable in 100 degree heat and 100% humidity in a few months; you’ll be baking alive with no air conditioning. ?

I'm from Oklahoma but have lived in Alabama for awhile. I don't mind this weather. I had Publix all to myself, for the most part.
So lets talk about global warming.

All we got was ice in Mississippi. We just missed an ice storm. Only lost power for about 6 hours. Looks like more coming Wed.
