My daughter has been talking about her. IDK if she has seen this particular doc but will ask her to watch if not. I don’t have time. So what is Toxic all about? The words send a clearly evil message. And the song isn't all that good - others have covered it much better. I wouldn't have known anything about it if I hadn't heard it covered and wondered if the message was as bad as it sounded. Britney's video makes it quite clear.

There's no doubt that plenty of talented people get roped into the entertainment industry, and then are used, abused, and discarded. No doubt to me that some of them are held captive simply through drugs - others need something else to keep them cooperative. Plenty of musicians have spoken out about it through their music. No one cares if it's a catchy tune and has other possible interpretations, or they can suggest it was nothing, sour grapes, whatever.

While I know nothing about Brittney's up bringing I do know about her mental disease. I have a niece who is bi-polar manic. Its a real shitty disease. My niece has had three children all who were taken away from her because she could not look after them. She cant look after herself never mind kids. We got lucky as we were able to fight to have open adoptions with the three boys so we know where they are and how they are doing. She goes off her meds quite frequently and ends up in the hospital with an episode at least 3-5 times a year. When she is in an episode she is scary. She stabbed my sister (her mother) in the back with scissors, destroyed every apt they have lived in (she lives with my sister because she can not be on her own) has been arrested on several occasions as well as disappearing for days weeks on end. She is on disability and buys all new clothes and shoes before food and has left her mother pretty much poor. So I do understand Brittney's conservatorship. You can see when she is off her meds and goes wonky. I don't think her fans really understand her disease. If they did then they would not be yelling free Brittney. Kanye West is another sufferer of bi-polar disease. Quite easy to tell when he is off his meds. Hospitals will take them in for a few days adjust their meds then send them packing once again. Its a pretty vicious cycle.
