I think.....just my own opinion....that Texas is inching closer and closer to secede from the Country, and it may encourage other Conservative states to join. This may be little warning shots towards Texas that would make them 'regret' trying to do so. While also making Texas an example to other states. I hope they stand strong. We need Texas!
Biden gave China access to our grid for 90 days by executive order - then TX gets hit. Hmmm? Something not smelling right for sure. I really do believe their grid was supposed to be hit much harder then it was and that the plan was foiled. They were trying to blame the weather for the take down but the second weather event did not manifest. White hats maybe? This is war.
So I'm not trying to be a dick here but It specifically says in your energy contract if you follow the market or if you're buying the energy at a certain price. The people getting the extreme bills obviously don't know that and should probably do more research before jumping at certain energy companies.
You are entirely correct. I don't delight in the bill, but the flip side of those wholesale deals is lower rates on average. It it s gamble; sometimes it does not pay.
if it's a federal crime to raise the price of a water bottle from 30 cents to $10 during a natural disaster, why is it ok to raise the electricity price from $50 to $9000?
I get supply and demand, but where's the consistency?
Either gouging during a declared emergency is acceptable or it isn't.
Also, the Biden admin refused to allow a temporary lifting of emissions regulations to expedite bringing the grid back online. You can't just fire up 10 coal plants because your emissions over time would be through the roof because starting a plant is dirty until it gets hot.
What's the point of declaring an emergency if literally nothing is allowed to relax to deal with the issue.
I think i know exactly whats going on. Texas was the first state to throw their hat in the ring into the voter fraud. They are now being punished for stepping out of line.

This is a two-fer . . .
1- China controls the electric grid. I would expect this to be exposed nationally but the FAKE news won't report it
2- Texas talks about seceding from the union
This won't end well for the rest of the US. Texas just may secede and you all know what that means???? (I hope)

But that's just ridiculous! Someone got a $17k bill. This is all for 1 week. There are laws against scalping, why wouldn't this apply?

If they dont tell you that they will charge 1500/mwh in an emergency isnt this fraudulent or misrepresentation?

Should've gone for 1.3 billion ?
