"One day everyone will use China's digital currency"
You think patriots would let that happen?
(Note that BtC has popped almost x6 since about the exact date this article was published last September. True, the fiat dollar bloated, but by nowhere near enough to justify even half of that move.)
Not a single person I know that owns BTC or ETH/LTC/etc, for that matter, can tell me what they can do with it. It’s comical!
Crypto can move vast sums without having to go through a central bank.
Bitcoin and other cryptos are deflationary; you can't hit a button and create more of them.
Ether and other "smart contract" cryptos can automate insurance settlements and real estate purchases without going through a human.
Chainlink connects offchain to onchain with smart contracts. I bought it at 20c and it’s $30 now. Smart contracts are very intriguing
Nice haul. I'm a slice-hog.
22k pi. Praying it will be worth something one day
Holy piss. You're either a Youtube rockstar with a thousand slaves under the lash, or you were in way early before any of the halvings. (I wish I'd heard about it year earlier.)
Got in at 35k miners
You mean you have 35,000 members of your mining team? (In which case, you should have a lot more than 22k Pi)
"Crypto can move vast sums without having to go through a central bank."
The OP concerned Bitcoin in particular, not crypto in general. Obviously we are all seeking to exit the central-bank cabal.
"you can't hit a button and create more of them."
You can't hit a button and create more shares of Hertz either (the company itself actually tried before they went under, and got spanked). Scarcity is an argument sold to and relayed by bagholders. What matters is whether or not the components of the category (companies, cryptes) are in scarce supply, and neither are. Sans cabal boostering and protection, eventually an overpriced commodity will be required to perform superior relative to its brethren. As far as I can tell, the only thing Bitcoin does best is "be first". Well, that'll wear off.
Bitcoins supply is literally scarcer than fiat, stocks, and probably precious metals. Maybe only land is scarcer, but it's propped up by fake Fiat currency.
Bitcoin/Crypto is the antidote to the Great Reset and I feel bad for patriots who don't see it
Bitcoin is not scarcer than class-a or class-b stock, or corporate bonds, or class-c "common" shares of delisted husks, nor is it scarcer than antiques and other rare-artifact numismatics (all of which are far better "stores of value" than crypto, and insurable to boot). Nobody ever worries about Ferarris made in the 1960s suddenly plunging in value 40% overnight. Last of all, it's not scarcer than real-estate.
Yes, it's portable -- but only a tiny sliver of people currently in BtC use it for the express purpose of transporting wealth in a personal carried flashdrive wallet. The vast majority of hodlers are Coinbase and Binance speculators.
yes it is.
Wtf are you talking about? A single bitcoin can be broken down into 100 million satoshi. Now multiply that times the max number of bitcoin...
Using that logic my excel spreadsheet is a ledger system with many less fields available. I'll sell you the entire first row of cells for 10 bucks a fell...
good luck with that! I'll be over here buying Bitcoin!
I for one, am moving to ETH. Their supply will start diminishing in July, and should have unlimited price ceilings due to scarcity as well.
Yup the value is the blockchain system.
You ARE the OP, why are you implying you arent OP?
I did no such thing, and you evaded the point:
"The OP concerned Bitcoin in particular, not crypto in general. Obviously we are all seeking to exit the central-bank cabal."
"The Nords had posted blah de blah blah...." This is what you did. Talk in 3rd person. Wtf.
Because the subject isn't me.
I’m a fan and own multiple, PM stonks bonds memorabilia all sorts o shit my wife says I don’t need but I can sell it all! Just funny when I talk to neighbors that own some but don’t have a clue and are just getting in. Cause Bitcoin.
I use it to carry large sums of money with me across borders with 0% chance of seizure. Try that with gold or dollars lol
Oh I understand. I own many and have traded it for years. Wife thought I was crazy til I started bringing in extra thick cut bacon.
I love thick cut bacon....
EXTRA
Wait, does this mean ETC? Lol
It’s easy use the maglevs in the underground tunnels. Voila.
I travel for business and pleasure. No thanks on the thumbdrive, that could be confiscated easily at customs. 24 words is all I need to pay for food, water, and yes dabs
I've slowly converted my crypto gains into physical assets... and profits from BTC specifically to zero out my car loans and mortgage.
Everything left in my crypto account is "play money" as it was leveraged to fill a secured safe with silver and gold while cancelling all of my debt.
Oh, you can also gamble with it too. I turned 0.5 ETH into 6 ETH playing Texas Hold'em online in one night.
How's that?
Oh really? Well i like texas holdem lol where's this game?
The aptly named "BitcoinCasino" > USA friendly crypto gambling. Some hurdles when signing up, but if you've got BTC or ETH burning a hole in yer pocket. Hit up the table games.
Bet low and slow at first; make sure it's not buggy. I had a few hiccups early on.
Or just cash out some crypto and hit up an old school casino!
Good luck!
I know two people who each have over $2 million each in crypto coin. Even if they go bust it’s ok since it’s a small portion of their wealth. I had a roommate who made millions mining it 2 years ago and also lost millions and won’t ever touch it again. Had like 2,000 miners (computer mining crypto).
There's nothing the IRS loves to do more than patiently wait until you've lost a pile during a crash and cashed out the remainder, then put a lien on your bank account for tax-avoidance.
I dont trust it at all
That's the great thing about blockchain, you don't have to trust it, is trust less; as in, you're not trusting any centralized authority with the ledger, it's distributed amongst many sources.
Don't a mere couple hundred thousand addresses own the vast majority of Bitcoin? That doesn't instill much confidence in me. Don't get me wrong, I've done alright on a few cryptos but it's not something I'd go all in on.
Yes. And a majority of early holders were child porn site operators, human traffickers, drug dealers , etc.
Oh... and China
Can you pitch a better hedge against quantitative easing and fiat inflation?
I'd guess physical gold and silver; but IMO they're more manipulated markets than even crypto
Yes well you're right about my preferences. There aren't very many options. Just remember which forum we're on though. I hold the unpopular view that the manipulation is going to come to an end and I don't think it'll take that long. There's a Q drop that says something like Gold will end the fed. I'm more bullish on silver but they will both benefit in my opinion.
Quantum financial system.
Well there is only like 21 million bitcoin ever gonna be in circulation so i am not surprised.
That's deceiving because each bitcoin is made up of 100 million satoshi which is the smallest unit bitcoin can be traded in.
That's like saying there will only ever be 21 million 20,000oz gold bars
So is bitcoin. It was the currency of the silk road and back page.....
What????? People use money for illegal things???? Breaking News!!!
Not able to follow a point or do you just read random replies and post stupidity out of context?
We should out law humans because some of them do drugs!!
Sure. Bitcoin in particular.
Unless you heat your house with it
This is pretty reductive and inaccurate.
It's 0's and 1's in millions of computers connected together that constantly verify the amount of 0'd and 1's. The value of which has been derived by hoovering up fiat currency.
But agreed... Gold will destroy the Fed. But what if it's digital gold?
Agreed!
China's digital Yuan is not Bitcoin. Bitcoin is illegal in China per my expert ah hem research on CNBC, So tell me more. Sauce?
It’s not illegal at all. It might be someday but not as of now.
Now that Bitcoin has lured all the big banks over, I'm thinking that it will be an easy sweep of the corrupt money so to speak.
Nobody knows what the big banks are doing, only what they're saying they're doing. What you hear is just, and solely, that: something you heard.
Maybe it is true. But if someone had a vested in telling you....
I can see it with my own eyes with the artificial pump on Bitcoin. Anyone can see that a lot of money got moved over.
For all you know, 95% of the volume is wash-trades painting the tape to fleece the FOMOs and then rape their stops.
How could you tell otherwise?
Crypto currency is nothing more than a new scam and an attempt at a new road into a CASHLESS SOCIETY! Considering governments are capable of shutting down the internet at their whim, how well do you think this beloved innerweb money is going to fair when complete access to it is cut off? Why is this simple fact so hard for people to understand?
Plus blockchain is 100% traceable.
Not all. And only to a wallet address. You cant tell us who has how many bitcoin today.
I've been saying this since it came out. There's no value in anything, else except knowledge, that you can't physically hold with your hands.
Unless you're cashing it in and trading it for fiat, and then buying silver or gold with the converted earnings, or anything else that can be battered or traded, it's useless once the financial system collapses, b cause tis a digital, and therefore, "ethereal" concept.
Should we be spreading fear, before we truly understand?
the Anti-Bitcoin Boomers on here is disheartening. Bitcoin is delivering on the Promise that Gold made and never kept.
Gold was hoarded for centuries by the cabal, which is why they made it the money. You think inflation is bad? You've never lived through a real depression. Nobody has for ninety years.
The cabal will always try to make the thing that they hoarded, and that you are coming way late to, the money. And they have you sold on it because unloading PMs on sucker peasants is one of their most profitable scams of all time. "It's money!" they shout while you buy high. The coins are so pretty, how can you resist? Then they engineer a famine, and starving people dump their metal for bags of rice at a severe loss. Rinse, repeat.
They're doing the same thing with Bitcoin. (Take that oily salesman Bitcoin Ben, he oozes charisma, but for some reason isn't already rich enough to be blowing everybody off and living on a beach. The guy is a spook. He's always pumping at the top of a chart move, but quiet on the low flats. Why? His job is "distribution".)
Its a chinese invented currency that 2 private chinese groups own 90% of all that exist. One of the private groups also sells the equipment thats required to mine the coin.
Its the most centralized currency ever, parading around as decentralized.
I thought it was a ponzi scheme from day 1. Now i believe its still a ponzi scheme but also a way for elitists to launder money undetected.
Not sure why this is being down voted. Ever bit of it is true.
Balloon might burst with your water in it. Put your water in a metal bucket while you wait for your clean bucket. The metal bucket is already clean, by the way.
Jack fell down and broke his crown.
well, Bitcoin is doing what Gold always promised to do but has always failed to deliever.
Bitcoin is at $60k each.
If that isn't golden-calf talk, nothing is.
