Taiwanese society has become “accustomed” to the threat from China due to decades of threats. But that does not mean we are unprepared. Few (no?) other nations have the same coastal missile density. We are a porcupine. We have freedom and we won’t give it up. We are not afraid. China will suffer grievously if they touch our home.
That being said, realistically, China most likely would invade an offshore island like Jinmen, which was used for a sort of cruel proxy decades ago. Jinmen is so close to China you can see cars driving on the road there from the beaches. Yet they leave it in relative peace for a long time. Either that or the South China Sea Dongsha or Taiping island. Actually I’m pretty sure that will be their target. I can 99% guarantee they won’t DARE touch the main island of Taiwan. They just don’t have the ability to take us cleanly, the consequences are too grave, and it would be a ruined province for them to deal with. It doesn’t make common sense. These people are stupid yes but I at least respect them enough to be not THAT stupid :)
Precisely. This is way bigger than nice little Taiwan. Zoom the camera out lol. And yes- China’s domestic problems are very serious. The more quiet it is about what’s going on in China (and the more threatening the news about their military lol) the more desperate the situation is.
Actually I feel great compassion for the Chinese people. They are at the mercy of gangsters. It’s truly cruel. But the end is in sight. The CCP is just a few steps away from implosion. Honestly I think it’s underway already...

It happened to the Russians on February 7, 2018, in Deir Ezzor Syria, when we inflicted 100 percent casualties on a 600-man Russian Mobile Detachment Combat Unit.
This is a combined-arms battalion based around three companies of motorized infantry.
Only two vehicles survived.
Nine out of 10 tanks and every artillery piece were destroyed.
The men who spoke to Moscow said that it was a trap.
The "Yankees" set them up.
"They sent their message," a voice said bitterly.
After steamrolling several defenseless countries, Putin though he was invincible.
Trump showed him that Putin remains in power at Trump's pleasure.
I sense a similar lesson in China's future.
But we're going to have lots of Pacific countries pitching in, as well as NATO.
They all want to be part of teaching China a lesson so that China stops messing with them.
People don't know this, but we have the same special relationship with Singapore that we do with the UK and Australia.
We've also helped the Taiwanese build up their forces so that they can punch FAR above their weight class.
And Taiwan has a special military relationship with Japan.
The Japanese have some of the most advanced armed forces in the world.
So does South Korea.
We have a clandestine relationship with Vietnam that allows us to base whomever and whatever we want there.
My guess is that like Russia, the Chinese will be allowed to save face, but they'll take a military pasting they'll never forget.

Please refresh my memory... who is this Thomas Wictor, and why should we listen to him? The name sounds vaguely familiar, but I cannot recall for the life of me what his bond fides are.
He's a military historian and analyst, and touts himself as "the world's only living expert in WW1 era flamethrowers". So he's got a good sense of humor too lol. But back in early 2016 he took note of Trump's tactics and predicted that Trump would with with 300+ EVs. He has pushed the idea ever since that Trump's presidency is a military operation, even before Q came around. Also notable is that he is not a Q guy himself, but he has come to alot of the same conclusions just by observing and analyzing Trump's actions and the events surrounding them.
I read points of view by various pundits/commentators for possible insight that I might not otherwise have, but then draw my own conclusions. Some of Wictor's stuff is valuable, but IMO his perspective isn't always valid. The same can be said of a lot of stuff I read.
Then look closely at a high res chart and consult the weather, and ask yourself: what capabilities would be necessary to transport an attack force, large enough to deal with the RoC military. What weapons would you need.
Where would you establish a beach head and what are the problems connected to it?
If that is already a bad dream, the next level is:
How do you supply and resupply your manpower? And what strategies exist to turn it into a logistical night mare.
On a different note: it is admirable the restraint Taiwan is showing. India would have less qualms to knock CCP "5th generation" trash out of the air.
