This shit needs to end. It's legit making my wife suicidal and neither of us can take much more of this fucking madness. Massachusetts is such a liberal shit hole.
We'd love to move to FL but my wife is a teacher and the teaching situation in FL is absolutely atrocious. They have a huge budget shortfall and needed to lay off thousands of teachers. On top of that teacher salary in FL is downright insulting. Starting pay for my wife with 16 years of experience would be 45k'ish. Wtf is that? She makes a lot more than that here. It's too bad this place is such shit.
We definitely are. Last night was just a frustrating night. We will find a way to make it work for us. Florida is where we want to be.
We'll be driving down and spending a month there this summer. We can't wait.
This has been my thought from the beginning. You are trying to avoid being indoors because it's an enclosed area, so.. you... replicate an enclosed indoor area outside?
If you like home cooking and are willing to pay a bit for it, go to Chapel Hill. There is a restaurant on Rosemary St. called Mama Dip's. She's a black woman, and her whole family is the kitchen and wait staff. They are all super polite. She started out making and selling sandwiches to college students. The food is great. Also ask for some chow-chow to try. She sells it by the pint in the gift shop. She has also written two or three cookbooks.
Appreciate the info, we're finding enough good cuisine around Raleigh proper (especially the BBQ of course), but we may venture further out by end of the week. Any thoughts on the Angus Barn?
No. I don't really go for steak. I'd rather have roast beef or pork, or pork chops, or ribs. I had ribs yesterday.
I have heard good things about the Angus Barn by people who have eaten there.
If you like eastern NC style pork BBQ with a vinegar and pepper sauce, I really like Smithfield's Chicken and Barbecue. It's a chain, mostly up and down the Hwy. 70 corridor, Raleigh, Goldsboro, New Bern, Havelock. I found one east of Raleigh at Nashville, near Rocky Mount just off 64. They use only pork shoulders, so their product is consistent from location to location. Their fried chicken is good too.
If you want a more local barbecue and are willing to travel east a little bit, there is Garner's in Rocky Mount. They have the best selection of vegetables I've ever seen in a barbecue place. Another one that comes close, but is even further east in Williamston, is Shaw's Barbecue.
I think King's in Kinston is pretty good. You will hear of others in eastern NC, but the ones I've tried aren't anything special. Also, if you're in Virginia and see a place advertising eastern NC barbecue, skip it. I tried one once, and the barbecue was dry as dust.
If you go all the way to the east coast of NC, there is Currituck BBQ. Location #1 is near Moyock, NC, but the mailing address is Barco. Location #2 is in Elizabeth City. The barbecue for both is cooked at #1. They have barbecue sandwiches for $2 on Tuesdays, and other specials on other days.
If you like seafood, you have to go southeast of Raleigh on Hwy. 70 East to LaGrange, NC and eat at the Sandpiper. It's on the old highway, not the brand new bypass. I get a small shrimp dinner and can hardly eat it all.
We watched a family who had never been there before place their order. They all ordered large seafood platters, plus shrimp cocktails. When the food arrived, it would hardly fit on the table. If you ever heard Jerry Clower holler, then you know what they sounded like when they saw all the food. I'm pretty sure they couldn't eat half of it.
I haven't seen such tents. But I read that they have them in New York City. I also read that they keep them at 25% occupancy as through they are indoor. Maybe if you have to make stuff up about how stupid liberals are, you don't have enough real information about how stupid liberals are? This isn't a Hillary Clinton level lie, but I thought that the people who say the liar is a liar wouldn't be also liars.

I would move ASAP if that’s at all possible. Much better to be around people that are not insane

PA sucks too.

Look into the cost of living and house prices in FL. Prices are bound to be lower in FL, especially if you stay away from the big cities.

I love the history behind Massachusetts, but everyday I feel the urge to move growing
Playing their games is still pandering to the cabal.
Open defiance is the better way. Take their power grab away from them and assert our power.
I have never worn a mask.
up is down in bizzaro world.
People in the future are going to look back at this time and say this singular moment set humanity back 100's if years.

HONK HONK
Only a fool would be fooled by this foolishness.
I ate inside Ruby Tuesday's yesterday. We don't have that crap here in my part of NC.
We're vacationing in Raleigh this week, enjoying dining inside, plus a lot less mask obsession than we're used to (in NM)

Can you tell I eat a lot of barbecue?

Can you tell I like to eat period? :)
I DM'd you just now, to take the discussion off of this thread.
inside out logic
Been there. Ate there. Just trying to keep them in business.
Waiting for restaurants to turn their dining areas into parking lots. We're getting closer...
