The vast majority here believe guns are not evil. Yet a gun is used for one, and only one purpose. To do harm to, or kill another life form (or threaten to do so).
This tool has the potential to do so much, both good and evil. It can heal the sick of diseases that are currently incurable, it can open up entire worlds for exploration. On the other side it can be used to create thought slaves of the entire population, where even our minds are no longer our own.
Even though it seems scary, because everything new is suspect and scary, it must be remembered, this is just a tool.

Vaccines are a tool. I think we need honest exploration into how often they can be legitimately useful, as even when they aren't filled with bad things they still might not be the best tool for a job, but yes, vaccines are a great tool to have in our toolbelt.
As for these particular vaccines, the nanoparticle used in the delivery of the mRNA (not the mRNA itself, but the carrier mechanism) is potentially useful. Similar technology has been used to good effect in other diseases. The way this one is used I am very much not a fan of. It does not have cell specific targeting molecules which means it can (and will) go into any cell type. This is I believe the main cause of many of the more severe adverse reactions (heart attacks, paralysis, strokes, aneurism, etc.). However, the idea of using lipid nanoparticles like these has great merit in targeted medicine.
The fact that they are using mRNA is imo not a good idea. It may be useful in some situations, but as a vaccine, designed to elicit an autoimmune response in any random cell type is, quite frankly, completely idiotic. With a little tweaking, and a whole lot more experimentation, perhaps it could be useful.
A much better vaccine would be a real vaccine, where they create the viral body (sans the DNA or RNA inside it) and use those otherwise dead viruses to induce an immune response.
So in short, yes they are a tool. The pieces that make them up are also tools. I think overall these vaccines are improperly (perhaps evilly) created and used on several levels. But many parts of them, and even the idea of them are not bad at all, but have the potential to do much good.
I think the issue with the COVID one is that people rushed the tool so its like trying to rake up leaves but you only got two prongs on your rake, that rake isn't going to be very effective in the job you are trying to do. Vaccines are a good thing, rabies for example without it you would die a very horrible death, but at the same time if its rushed or if they do improper studies and harm people from it then you have a person using the tool wrong or just a broken tool.

It's really pretty simple neural network training, it's just that it's using data from the monkey's brain. The monkey thinks it's playing the game since it trained the neural network with it's own responses and the movements are almost identical to it's new inputs. Not having a go at OP since it's the stupid youtube headline (and the video is still very interesting) but it's completely wrong. It's as if people are just mental pygmies who have to have everything over simplified to the point of it being wrong. So the correct headline:- Neural network programmed with data from a monkey's brain plays a video game maybe is not as catchy and WONT TREND AS MUCH!
