Its not double jeopardy because its not the same crime. They aren't charging him with murder, manslaughter, etc they are just saying Chauvin violated Floyd's civil rights. Its a lower level felony. Pretty sure the max is like 5 or 10 years. Truth be told I'm not sure they could convict him. Federal courts are much more robust in the way they pick juries and instruct them etc. The jury would be given proper instructions and would have no choice but the find him not guilty. That knee on the shoulder thing was proper procedure. You can't "brutalize" someone using a procedure that the whole force uses.
This whole thing is a joke. They can't snap their fingers and make an innocent man guilty. Chauvin needed to be fired from his job. That's it. There was nothing criminal about what happened. It was just a dick move. He should have taken his knee off him 2-3 minutes before he actually did. That's it. Everything else was by the book and perfectly fine. More importantly you can never ever ever prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" it caused Floyd's death. There will ALWAYS be doubt that it was 100% a drug OD.
Is it possible the knee is what killed him? Yes, but its not possible to prove that for sure. The default is INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. Everyone is just ignoring that one simple thing. Chauvin was judged guilty by the mob before the trail even started. That's the whole problem. Criminal trails aren't supposed to work that way.
Everything else like a double jeopardy argument is just pointless fluff. Chauvin is innocent until proven guilty and the proof just isn't there.
You know it really kills me that no one seems to know you cannot be charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter . It has to be one out of the 3 lol. How come no one knows that its an automatic appeal.
Its just proof that the jury didn't actually understand what they were supposed to do. They didn't make a decision based on facts and law they made it based on emotion and fear of the mob.
I am not convinced this whole thing isnt a set up/show/sham whatever. None of it makes sense. GF was a vile career criminal, in and out of the prison/jail/arrest rotation and the obsessiveness with justice for someone like this is over the top.
I cant get past that movie trailer someone posted the other day, showing that exact location, years ago, marked in mi ops meeting.
This has got to be a show that comes to a conclusion at some point. If its not, America is so screwed
That's a planned premeditated violation of the 5th amendment protection against double jeopardy.

I kept telling people that. You use the highest charge... that is why sentencing has been delayed.
That’s how we know it’s a sham. Lol and because people are literally idiots.
If you think about it, no matter which way the chips fell it would have resulted in zero riots.
Part of the plan?
Lol that is definitely not true. Funny though.

or that many were demanding 1st degree without knowing what 1st degree means lol

Gray State is the film. The director "committed murder-suicide" and the film never came out. ?
yes, interesting. At the time it was considered suspicious, wonder what the guy knew
Watching the trailer, it's really hard to believe he didn't know it all.
Chauvin-NOT GUILTY! “Think Mirror”?
