someone commented that Trump couldn't be elected in 2024, assuming no changes to our constitution, unless he serves less than two years of this presidential term.
Here is the 22nd amendment:
Section 1 No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.
Section 2 This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.
What if the AZ audit and potential follow on audits show that Trump won? Might that disqualify him from running in 2024 because he would have been elected twice already? Maybe the current slate of invalid electors would have to be disqualified and new ones certified in order for it to count as being elected twice.
I assume Trump wants to serve at least another four years, not only because he's the best man for the job, but he also deserves it and that would drive the left nuts and we know he likes doing that.
So if the constitution doesn't change how does Trump serve another four years without us having to go through this disaster that we're in until 2025?
Maybe all of this is going to play out over the first two years then he’ll serve the next two years of this term. But it won’t count as a term if less than 2 years, so he can run again
That's why Trump said he's sorting out "legal issues" on Hannity's interview when asked about the 2024 run. He might be in for a third term. EIGHT MORE YEARS, MAGA!
Four options, not saying any is for sure. Just based on discussions here.
2). Buried deep in the COVID National Emergency it was recognized as a bioweapon attack and it triggered Continuity of Government measures. In short President Trump is still POTUS.
4). The first impact of the audits flips the House and McCarthy becomes Speaker of the House. As the Presidential election is sorted out McCarthy becomes Acting President. President Trump takes office at the point where he can run again in 2024.
All of this is spitballing, but it hardly seems right that we should have the person we truly elected serve less than four years.
Gen Flynn should be able to answer that for you. He 100% guaranteed that Trump would be president for 4 more years.
I think he's reinstated and finishes out this term, maybe with DeSantis as VP who then runs in 2024.
The Military declare this election null and void due to fraud, Trump is appointed Interrume (sp) until election in 2024 and he wins handily. ?????
And how does that get around what the constitution lays out?
Because he wasn't elected in 2020/2021.
Biden's fraud disqualifies himself (among host of a variety of reasons) & the results of the election are tainted.
However, Trump was the only other candidate to receive an electoral vote. So he's the only choice by defacto for the military.
The country has barely acknowledged election fraud yet. We've still got to get through the Arizona audit, then the audits following.
The leftists / RINOs are going to be kicking and screaming all the way to drag things out as long as possible.
