True story: Yesterday Mrs. FPP and I were on our way to pick up some provisions from our local hardware store. On our way we were on a 4 lane highway connector. It was around 2pm in the afternoon. It was sunny, no clouds at all. There was a young man, probably around 16 years of age walking on the shoulder of the road staring down at his phone ... he had a mask on. HE HAD A MASK ON, WALKING OUT IN THE OPEN. HE HAD A FUCKING MASK ON !!!!!
I regret not taking a photo ... but as God is my witness this happened.
We have a LONG LONG way to go yet.
I’m in San Diego ! I hike / walk all the time ..more wear mask outside than not ...no one is in stores etc without them ..I’ve never wore one I made a medical exempt badge that I posted here in the past .. but it’s very creepy and uncomfortable at times ..I’m the only one in stores without a mask , customers are worse than employees as far as having a fit that I don’t wear one ..I absolutely can’t get in Costco , they circle u screaming , you won’t get rung up etc..people at beach , hiking and many driving alone wear them , I saw people on their boats gliding through the water in our beautiful bay with masks on ..it’s really horrible how brainwashed people are
Crazy because I'm just north of you (by San Clemente) and nobody wears them outside here. A couple weeks ago I went on a three hour bike ride and decided to keep a count of how many people I passed by, not people in cars, but people hiking when I was on the trail, or walking on sidewalk, other bikes, etc. 122 people, 119 no mask, 2 wearing mask, 1 with mask under chin.
It just goes to show how people's trends are so influenced by other people around them, and trends can be so vastly different in areas that aren't even that far away from each other. That's why it's important not to give in and wear it, because then all the sheep take the lead and follow. When people see others without a mask they start joining in, and before you know it a change of trend is effected.
A new restaurant just opened in my neighborhood, a nice upscale place. We went after it had been open one week and were pleasantly surprised to see that only about 20% of the staff were wearing masks. I asked our waitress if the owner was there, he was, and came over to our table. I shook his hand and said "My food hasn't even gotten to the table yet, but I'm already a fan because the employees aren't masked." He said in the eight days they've been open there was only ONE single customer that complained. That just goes to show, everyone needs to stop listening to the tiny minority of loud mouth lib complainers, we are the majority and need to start flexing our collective strength.
I love Oc or NC even Carlsbad is so much better . I know OC has a lot of advocates screaming the truth .. SD is still very bad esp the school age and elementary kids masked up is so sad .. I get called out by idiots in stores all the time by customers , most employees know me and I’m accepted but only because they think I have medical problems sometimes I have to mouth the words as if I can’t speak that’s how bad it is ..hiking here out in mission trails a lot of mask and they act like I have a gun when approaching on other side of trail .,beach is still bad but getting better about half the nuts are walking or sitting on beach with a mask ..glad you don’t have as many nutjobs there
That's the People's Republic of California for you.
We are starting to wake up here in Central Illinois - went out to eat yesterday - most everyone coming and going in the restaurant had NO mask on - the owner of the restaurant and his wife were helping filling up drinks, etc, with NO masks on; the waitress had hers hanging off of her ear! And not one person complained or said anything negative! Thank you Jesus!!!!
I was in Shelbyville IL a month ago. We went out to a restaurant. Hardly any one was wearing a mask except the staff. The place was packed ... probably 70-80 people in this Mexican restaurant. No shit ... maybe 3 people in the whole place and they were CLEARLY soibois
Let's hope more and more people start waking up and put a stop to this insanity. God Bless!
Some people want to be on a leash. They may read Jack Kerouac, but they themselves are more comfortable on the leash..
Oh I see it every day in my neighborhood. People out for a stroll alone with The mask on! It baffles the mind how stupid people are. We also have a lot of joggers and bikers (bike cycles) cause I'm by the beach and there are also those that run and ride with their ever loving mask on. LOSERS!
I could take pictures of shit like this every day living in Los Angeles. Any time I go out I see multitudes of people wearing masks while walking down empty sidewalks alone and also people wearing them alone in their cars. I’m not sure how these blue areas are supposed to be saved if that’s even possible. These people chiseled away 99% of their brains and chucked them into the ocean.
Look... you can live life as unsafely as you want, but don't judge me for taking precautions and always keeping my mask on until I've made it back to the getaway car and gotten at least half way to the county line.
My personal favorite was the guy I saw walking alone through the parking lot at my apartment complex. Looked like a 40 something hippy burnout, wearing two masks AND a plastic face shield.
I had my window down at the time and instinctively chuckled to myself. Dude heard me.
He points at me and says something like "FUCK YOU, MAN! I HOPE YOU GET THE VIRUS AND DIE!"
I just waved and said "Sure thing, bro!"
Yeah, these are the same people who wear a mask while driving alone in their car. They're the same people who will openly say that there's no reason to stop wearing masks even after Covid because they do nothing but good. They're the same type of people who will get vaccine tattoos over their injection sites. It's no longer about "science" or whatever, if it was ever even about that in the first placed. It's become a straight-up cult, and once you refer to it as such everything starts to make sense.
Any ideas how to break this control? I am usually one to not cause trouble. I ran to the store yesterday and walked in without a mask and walked by many sheep in the parking lot
see them ALL the time outside in NorCal. haha! it's fucking nuts and enraging. i even see kids at the park wearing them. LITTLE kids. i mean wtf? it's hot as hell here already. who masks a kid at a park. Even the weed delivery people roll up in masks lol
Cuckneticut resident here, you have no idea how bad it is. People are literally NPCs with no brain function.
Just traveled through four states last week. More people without masks than with overall I'd say. Employees wore them, but those we talked with mentioned that they hated it and several had had lung infections or pneumonia...were only wearing them to keep their jobs. but yes...still saw some people wearing them while walking outside, even alone. so sad.
If you were surprised to see this, then you must live in an area that is already better than most.
When I take my dog out for a walk in the park, I keep track of non-masked vs masked people on the trail surrounded by trees and clean air.
One thing I have noticed over several months of doing this: if the weather is fair, the number of mask users increases. If the weather is marginal or poor, the ratio changes significantly.
In good weather I will see anywhere from 2:1 to 5:1 non-masked to masked. In poor weather it has been as much as 25:1 non-masked to masked.
My hypothesis is that this has something to do with risk aversion.
Im in OR see it all the time.
