You should ask them why they are closing your account. Regardless, I moved away from Skank of America back in 2004 and have been with a credit union this entire time. Highly recommended.
Im sure they have some prepared response that protects them from a lawsuit. Not too comcerned, like I said, it's been a long time coming. The only reason i stayed with wells was convenience, now I realize it is just as convenient through my local credit union
You will be well rid of Wells Fargo. One of the most corrupt and incapable banks on the planet. Find a nice local but large Credit Union, you won't be sorry.
So... qq... is this backed by a money market savings account?
Wells is closing out a couple of big mutual funds they picked up from acquired banks they were using to cover savings account interest. IDK exactly why; either it had something to do with Warren Buffet pulling out or they failed a couple key liquidity and investment risk measures last month- FINRA and the SEC are getting spooked.
And before you go shitting on Wells in general, they're the only bank left still lending to gunmakers and pro-2A businesses. They're also the only major bank that didn't collaborate with the Nazis, and I think the only one that waives account maintenance fees for US Veterans.
Not a shill, just been a WF customer for a really long time. My purchase history would have gotten me banned from just about any other bank.
Wells Fargo was excellent and I have close relative working there. We watched the fiasco with them not wanting to take obama bail out money- they did not need it. Were forced to take it and paid it back instantly but it put them under government rules.
I noticed after that it appeared they were set up by workers in CA doing the accounts opening without client approval. My opinion is WF got smacked down hard for doing above board business. Now they bow to every disgusting gender bending rule you can imagine. It is not the same bank.
Good on you for leaving Wells Fargo, even if it's involuntary. They've got some real shitty people in leadership.
Glad to see in another comment that you're going with a local credit union. Protip: if your credit union participates in shared branching and the CO-OP ATM network, then you'll have more free in-network ATMs and branches across the USA than any commercial bank.
Wells Fargo has been a scummy bank for years and so is Bank of America. I didn't use my BofA card in DC but I canceled it right after Tucker Carlson reported on them volunteering info to the FBI and it was the first time I canceled an account and the rep on the phone didn't even try to talk me out of it when I answered "because you don't respect customer privacy" when she asked why I was closing the account. So far none of my several other banks have given me any issues.
Quick question if anyone knows: I just recently starting buiosikng my credit after being with Wells Fargo (my first bank) for a decade. I have good credit cause I don't overdraft and I'm loyal but I want to switch to a credit union. How likely is it that will lower my credit score much? I'm looking to buy a house sometime soonish. Thanks
Opening/closing a bank account will not affect your credit in the slightest unless they do a hard pull of your credit to start the account. Even then its very minor unless you do credit checks too often.
Savings/Checking accounts hardly matter in credit scores, it's repaying credit cards and installment loans on time for years that gives you a high credit score. Also your overall credit utilization, I've gotten a very high score from having lots of cards open but using less than 10% on average of the sum total of the credit limits, I tend to cycle through which cards I use depending on what reward points I'm banking and keep them all active by having a different bill being autopayed on each card and just pay them all off every month.

I'm going to close my account any day now with the cabal's banker. Going to Navy Federal Credit Union.
Do it tomorrow.
Any credit union to be honest. If you're a vet USAA is really good. I do have a NFCU account on standby though.
All you have to do to join NFCU is product your dads DD-214.

Feel the same, and I may have been banmed bexause of 2a purchases, hard to say. but I guess we will see how my new credit union does

That kinda sucks to hear. I consider them to be the least of the evils, but I don't see any other choice (as far as large national banks go).
Well, until we see "Trump National Bank" or "America First National Bank". I really think that's in the works, no joke.
How did they know you were at the Capitol?

Purchases, hotel booking, rental car, and possibly the fact that I ended up in jail over the whole thing. Its not hard at all
And to your sexond point, that ia how I figured out that it wasnt as inconvenient as I suspected

They're doing you a favor. Why do business with snakes? Dump them.

Yet, these giant mega banks aren't cancelling the accounts of Antifa "protesters." Weird. /s/
