An excellent post by Midnight Rider at the end of the Wins list here. I'm going to expand on his warning regarding this official "disclosure report" from the secretary of defense.

In my time working in D.C., I bumped up against people involved with that subject and tech, although I cannot claim to have worked with the subject myself.

This report is not the result of public pressure. The small number of people that control this secret largely exist outside of government. They will give us only what they want to give us. Do not trust what they give us as the truth and certainly don't believe that whatever they give us is the full story.

It's complicated. This was originally kept secret out of good intentions. But as we all know, lies have the habit of fostering more lies. And this information and technology allowed some people to become rich and live a different class of life than the rest of us.

And it's not just as simple as folks from another planet. Some of them are, some are far more complicated. I won't defend keeping earth-shattering secrets from the public, but it's a very complicated story and a difficult one to share with the American people. I hope I live to see that full story told.

And no, aliens are NOT demons. Yes, evil is real. Yes, some of these entities don't like us. But demons are something entirely separate.

That was a far longer screed than I had intended. All I'd ask is that when that report drops, you look at the information with a jaundiced eye. There are good folks among those who keep this secret and there are downright evil folks. Look at the information critically (whatever it is that they share) and be wary of it being used as a distraction, just as Midnight Rider posits.
