I think we should all get together and start dehydrating the cicadas. We can ship them down to Gitmo as care packages for the inmates. It would be the kind and caring thing to do.
I lived in Thailand for 15 years and have eaten bugs. I have eaten deep fried insects before. They are not bad, crunchy and like they said,"tastes like peanuts."
However, I will never substitute that with an actual meal.

I'm fairly certain the cicada thing is a traditional festival event in some places... Not part of the "eat bugs and like it" push. I feel like I've heard of this before many years ago. I guess last time the cicadas came around.
What is the angle here with meat replacement with bugs?

When I was very young I ate chocolate covered ants. I am an adult now and I don't eat bugs. For all of the bug eaters out there, have at it to your heart's content.
