God is each of us and all things; we are all individualized fragments of Him, our First Source. Ever heard the "we live in a simulation" theory? I believe it's true but not in the way that a flawed creator would create a simulation like how our human minds create video games and movies as simulations. Think of what a perfect and infinitely-powerful consciousness would create. It's important to remember that WE are beholden to time and gravity in our time on earth, where a creational power as infinite as First Source would not be bound by the construct of time and space and likely had a hand in creating those very forces that we acknowledge and live our lives by - yet still elude us from true definition and understanding. Don't even get me started on consciousness!
Quantum research is catching up to being able to explain the slow and painstaking convergence of science and religion but we aren't quite there yet. That's okay though, because everything you need is already within you! It's said that within the next 50-80 years that science will provide irrefutable proof of the human soul, which will throw wide the gates of personal holistic research in earnest; I think we can get a head start and help it along by even starting to think about concepts like these.
Think about it; we spend so much time and effort discovering and labeling everything "outside" of us, but what defines the "us" part? How this isn't the burning question in the front of every living human's mind is a testament to how effective the worlds densities and energies are at keeping us distracted in this simulation. The human body is a technological wonder of an instrument, a navigating and exploratory instrument that was made specifically to house the soul and live autonomously from the earth. It also seems to shield the soul from being found without great effort on the individual's part, but this is likely by design; imagine what the world would be like if every person could just create and manipulate the world according to their will; it would be utter chaos.
Man has what see as flaws because, in our individual expressions in our time here, we are given free will to make choice. Ultimately that choice centers on your will pointed toward a 'service to self' or 'service to others' mentality and lifestyle. Jesus/Yeshua was literally the perfect model of the service to others mentality manifested in our world.
When people choose, unwittingly or purposefully, to pursue a service to self lifestyle, they both have no regard to the other expressions of God that live around them (varying degrees of sociopathy) as well as thinking they are doing the right thing, because they believe they are alone and do not see or believe in the unity model of existence. They are blind to their connection to the human family, and is usually bred from ignorance just like what we consider evil is.
I'll leave this here since it's a wall of text already but I hope I could shed some light on what and who we are and what I believe our relationship to All that is, well, is!
tl;dr: unity as a human family is the path this community is oriented toward, and I provide some explanations as to why, one of which is an explanation of how our reality plays a part in our existence beyond the distractions, although accurate, that were posted in the OP's post.
Are you familiar with the Ra sessions? Your use of "service to self' vs 'service to others' is the same language used there. I would also like to hear your opinion on psychedelic (soul-revealing) experiences whether through breath-work, plant medicine, body movement, or otherwise. I am building a library of esoteric and ancient wisdom and would love to hear any recommendations you have. ?
Haha I have and the Ra materials are exactly where I chose to source that specific language because it seems the most concise explanation I've read so far regarding our purpose -- at least that can be explained in our language. I am about a third through The Law of One book right now as a sort of starting point to absorb that material as it is only one facet of my research and truth-seeking.
I can't tell you how happy I am that someone else knows what I'm talking about and I'm very interested to hear more about your project because I've started a similar exercise for myself in order to gather all these seemingly separated-yet-similar wells of spiritual knowledge into one place. because I'm seeing an incredible amount of cross-reference and know that I can connect dots where none have been connected before.
For example, have some truly crazy coincidences that have happened throughout my life that only recently I've come to understand are related to this so I suppose I've been called upon and have been for some time. If you are interested in this material at all I'd love to share them to hear your input, because it's too statistically improbable in my mind to be a fruitless coincidence.
As to what function I serve I don't know yet though I know it will be revealed to me in time. I'm very curious if others have/had similar revelations. I mean you and I are both connecting via the Q community here, right? Event strings are absolutely a thing haha.
I was initially drawn in by the Wingmakers Materials only a couple months ago, beginning with the Neruda Interviews. I don't quite remember but I am almost certain that it was a random linkout from this very community.
Other peoples' entryways to this content will and should probably be unique to them and what resonates, IMO -- if it's the same way then awesome but if not, well all of my research and inner findings seem to have been curated thus far, and I have come to trust my heart and whatever this influencing guide is in what rabbit hole I jump down next.
PS: I've made a Discord server just yesterday that I stood up for my own efforts in organizing and documenting these findings and materials, and if you'd like to join (or anyone else interested in this material) you're more than welcome. Like I said in my original comment, I can't think of a concept more important than discovering what we are at essence and how that fits in with our purpose, so the more the merrier, literally!
Don't feel shy about posting ideas or asking questions, that's the whole point. since I just made it yesterday it's a bit light on material so far but I hope to make it a sort of dynamic repo over time, which would especially awesome if others felt compelled to contribute but there's zero pressure to - just thinking out loud.
