The pool chem shortage is due to the chlorine plant in Lake Charles being damaged in a hurricane last season, then catching fire. There are only 3 plants in the U.S. that produce the chlorine pucks... and that was one of them.
The other two plants are trying to keep up with demand, but they can't just ramp up production by +50% each. That's not realistic.
The Lake Charles plant is being rebuilt and will come back online in 2022. Meanwhile, chlorine discs (and nearly all other pool chemicals) are roughly 200% higher in price than last year. :>(

Lithium Grease, Aluminum Complex Grease, Plyurea Grease, Clay Grease, etc... .
