As a lifetime libertarian who voted for Ron in my first election, that shit pissed me right off and i forever decided that republicans are simply the enemy of our enemy, and not our friend in the slightest. Trump has made me revisit that belief though, as he masterfully reforms the party.
You have this 'old guy that's always told the truth' pop out of the woodwork and huge crowds start showing up everywhere he does. He was a Obgyn doctor and then became a libertarian-leaning Congressman in Texas. He was basically the anti-government politician.. basically saying we should just follow the US Constitution as written, get rid of the war on drugs, end the wars in the Middle East, and return to government run at a local level. He said things like "Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans strictly as members of groups rather than as individuals. Racists believe that all individuals who share superficial physical characteristics are alike: as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism.
The true antidote to racism is liberty. Liberty means having a limited, constitutional government devoted to the protection of individual rights rather than group claims. Liberty means free-market capitalism, which rewards individual achievement and competence - not skin color, gender, or ethnicity."
So, of course, this guy getting huge crowds and winning all the Republican straw polls (in both 2008 and 2012) is hated by the media. They acted like he did not exist. I myself was at an event where Ron Paul had the most supporters.. and CNN only put their cameras on the Mitt Romney and John McCain crowds and acted like we all did not exist. It was eye-opening.
The media called Ron Paul crazy as well as all of his supporters.. He was clearly treated like his ideas were more dangerous than Hitler's.
Very similar to the left shutting out Bernie. Ron Paul was leading in the polls and Fox would purposefully ignore him and leave his name out when reporting on the polls. There were shenanigans at the caucus, including locking out Ron Paul delegates and locking people in the building and changing voting rules and voting outside. It was absolute nuts.
I was there. I know. I also hate little Georgie Snufalufagus' guts for the interview he did with Ron where he snottily asked if he really thought he had a chance to be President. That little piece of shit should hang, so I can come by and piss on his grave.
I really loved old man Ron, but in reality he was not mean enough. I also loved Ross Perot, but he too lacked the guts to stand against them. Both would have been better than any of the son's of bitches that filled the office since Reagan until Donald J Trump stepped in. I think Trump may have been the only person in this country capable of saving it.
I gotta agree with you.. I was a Rand Paul supporter right up until he called it quits - and Trump won me over. Watching Trump grow from 'rough around the edges' to 'classy, elegant, and still anti-establishment' won me over. Trump also made me realize there were allies in some unlikely places..
Honestly, I'm surprised Fox was allowed to report any conservative news. Ever. It's not like they are owned by a neutral or a conservative corporation.
Many got redpilled against Fox the moment they couldn't call out George Soros.
And many more the night they called Arizona for Biden when there weren't enough votes in to make a call.
Some of us have been redpilled since 2007.. when Fox News went out of their way to make sure no one knew who Ron Paul was.

I agree on all counts. Bigly

Here's a Youtube video from 2008 that kind of sums it up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG_HuFtP8w8

As a fellow younger anon,I highly recommend checking Ron Paul out. His principles and truth are enlightening in the raging left/right climate

I love how many people think fox is legit. They may have a few well intended hosts/reporters, but Fox is fake news that throws a couple bones
'conservative ' branch of the DS media machine...

I don’t think it was a fluff piece. Texas is being warned to conserve energy to avoid rolling blackouts.
