The hubby and I love to travel, especially cruising. We've been loyal customers of Royal Caribbean for over a decade. We were disappointed to hear a few months ago that they were requiring proof of vax to cruise. No way are we getting the jab. So... we figured this too shall eventually pass, and we would book a cruise when they no longer require vax proof.
Then, last week, we received an email from RC, stating the vax proof restriction has been lifted. Yippee!
But wait... not so fast. Unvaxed passengers are allowed to cruise, but RC will be charging said individuals MORE for the "privilege."
Say what??? As an unvaxed person, I'M EITHER A HEALTH RISK TO OTHERS OR I'M NOT! And please explain to me how extra passage dollars will make me "less contagious" to others around me!
We're being discriminated against for not taking the jab.
Yep. Discrimination kinda like what yesterday's whistleblower said at Project Veritas. On the downside I would continue to expect this for a while maybe forever if we don't win. On the upside it is completely ridiculous so maybe we will win as people continue to see all these stupid rules for what they are.
Agreed.
I like cruise vacations... but for the next few months, I'd advise AGAINST it.
If (or when) the SHTF, which may be in July, August or September... do you REALLY want to be on a ship 2,000 miles away from the U.S.? Internet access may be down, communications disrupted, banks may be off-line for a few days, there may be serious issues... basically things might be weird for a few weeks.
During that time, would you honestly like to be in Cancun, Mexico or in Jamaica or at the port in Honduras, have ZERO communications and no way of knowing what is happening back home? Do you want even a remote possibility of having your bank account frozen while you are out of the country?
This is a time to sit tight. I wouldn't plan any major excursions for at least the next 3 months. Let the dust settle first. Who knows... your ultimate vacation might be having a FRONT ROW SEAT to the biggest political even in U.S. history. :>) Grab some popcorn and enjoy. No beach in the Bahamas can compete with that.
Totally agree with you! We were looking to go abroad next spring. Would love to see Italy and the British Isles again. :-) I wouldn't give up my front row seat to the Greatest Show on Earth for nothing! NCSWIC
I think the best thing anyone can do is just wait this vax garbage out for now.
There will come a time when even the media and big tech won't be able to censor what is happening from the sheep and this whole thing will fall apart.
.....Hopefully.
Agreed.
Assuming you're sick until proven healthy is no different from being guilty until proven innocent. It's completely ass-backwards.
And asymptomatic spread is a myth that's never been proven.
Totally agree with you!
Also they are going to have special restrictions on unvaxxed passengers, limit where you can go on the ship and charge you for COVID testing coming and going.
I saw that. :-(
In the meantime are there other vacation cruise liner companies you might consider? While RC has a woke-joke marxist infestation at the current time, perhaps there are other options you and your husband might consider. When this marxist, cabal-esque BS is finally eliminated and if RC survives the storm, you can go back to them. Just an option.
Very true.
I have no words. We're doomed mo matter how you look at it.
Doomed to what, an eternity in heaven where we are in the enveloped in total love.
Doomed how, Buddha?
Doomed, unless something is fuc*ing done -Revolution, Civil War, States Seceding, SOMETHING! We deserve what we get as long as we allow the BULLSHIT to continue.
We are scheduled to cruise out of Florida for Christmas and New Year’s. We are waiting til September to cancel because we are waiting to see what they do. Like you, we are not getting the jab.
We most likely won’t be going unless all events and venues are open for all vaxxed and unvaxxed, no masks required anywhere and no extra costs associated with being unvaxxed.
My question is if they are not requiring proof of vax, does that automatically put you in the unvaxxed category? But isn’t that still requiring proof for fair treatment?
It's my understand that Royal Caribbean backed down from requiring vaxx in Florida. So leave from Florida.
Not needing a vax passport isn't the problem. The problem is RC charging UN-VAXED passengers MORE! If I'm a health threat, how does extra $$$ solve that problem?
Also there are also serious restrictions for the unvaxxed.
We need a few good class-action lawyers on a scale never seen before...
Ask THEM that question. It's a perfectly logical one. Then get back to us with their answer. I look forward to hearing it.
Colleges are doing the same.
There are going to be some serious lawsuits filed in the not-too-distant future.
Fortunately, we didn't book a cruise.
