I taught in an urban public school district for 41 years after serving 8 years in the military, 4 as a junior officer.
During my career in education, 9 out of 10 Black Americans at the High School level had no interest in achieving an education and an ability to think critically or learn a job skill that can earn them a decent living. The 1 out of 10 that do make an effort are treated miserably by their fellow blacks. They are accused of being white and experience the real racism others say they experience. The problem is that too many in the urban setting have been living on welfare for up to 4 generations now. LBJ and the Dems knew what they were doing when they passed the Great Society legislation back in the 1960s. This broke up the Black family unity that was stronger at that time, killed the work ethic as Biden is trying to do now, and got the drug trade to grow exponentially from that time. The worse is the majority of Black Americans allowed this to happen and they kept voting for the pols that did this to them. There was no push back against the break up of their families, the decline in their education and the difficulty in the law to get off government dependency as well their separation from the mainstream by living in government housing. The law segregated the Black population from the mainstream with the housing laws enacted under LBJ. Jim Crow pols would be proud. Those who worked there way out of this environment to be productive citizens should be highly commended.
If you doubt my conjecture, just look up the stats for black on black murder and other crimes. Look up applications for welfare by race and how many get off welfare in a short time. In my 65+ years, I have seen blacks from Africa and the Caribbean immigrate here legally and have no problem achieving middle class status or better. They tell me opportunities are frequent here because of our freedoms, living is far better than where they came from, and whatever racism they did experience did nothing to stop them from meeting their goals. American born blacks who worked for their success have told me the same thing.
In short, the real racism in this country is the D Party policies enacted going back to LBJ that the Ds still wreck our economy to fund, the RINOs are too spineless to stop when they had control of the government, and a majority of Black Americans to addicted to the free money and benefits to do the hard work necessary to build a better life.
If you don’t like my reporting on these decades of observations and want to call me a racist, fine, you won’t be the first or the last. However, to those pushing CRT, what have you really done to improve your lives and the lives of others other than blaming another group of people for your misfortune?
One other item. In 36 of the 41 years I taught, at least one of my black students finished the school year in a grave, and the one that killed them, all black, finished the school year in prison if they were caught.
Poverty was on a continuous downward trend when The Great Society was launched.
I have heard that quote in your 2nd paragraph more times than I care to remember.
OP is speaking the truth.
The black community before Lyndon Johnson was so strong. And historically been that way. The welfare state broke the family up.
I have a best friend that was at thing a student teacher. There was a black student that was brilliant. And my friend wanted to extract that to assist student to be the person he was meant to be. On returning a paper that the student got an A-, the student erupted and said "I'm to be uneducate-able", and tore his own papers up. The class cheered.
My friend was heavily disillusioned by this. This was in the 80's.
Something is truly wrong within the black community. Where is this coming from? Who is propagating this? Is it a (false) legend that is repeated? Why has it not been corrected?
One man who spoke out against what was wrong with the Black community was Bill Cosby, a man who worked his way out of poverty, got a good education and built a good career. Even if you don’t like what he did to women, he tried to fix the Black community and I believe went to jail for speaking out. If he Cos stayed with the program, the system would have protected him and those women would not have been heard in court. By speaking out, the DS opened the floodgates on Cos.
I want to thank the many frens for this honest discussion on a difficult topic. I expected to receive a bunch of downvotes for posting this. I am pleasantly surprised that after 8 hours, there were none.
I won't call you anything. I think that everyone that pushes CRT or the racisms should go to these communities and talk to people and experience it, and then try to draw conclusions from that. But realistically I have seen what giving people all the evidences and examples does and for some reason, IDK I guess people are broken, they don't seem to change at all.
Thomas Sowell said the only people who can affect any real change in the plight of black Americans is black Americans. Your point is well taken and on point, but...
The Democrat party has been offering blacks free stuff for so long that there are 4 generations of welfare recipients who have been told by the MSM and the Democrats that they are victims and deserving of government assistance.
They've been told that a single mother can get more money if they have more children, and no money if the father is in the picture. If you think we've all been brainwashed by our education system and the MSM, as I do, the impact on poor black communities is 10 fold greater.
Thanks be to Jesus Christ that I beat all the odds myself. I regularly get picked on at work, but the joke is always on everyone else. I’m not a victim or a traitor…if anything, the individuals who claim victim hood and ruin their opportunities in life are the real traitors. I regularly let them know this as well. How would “our ancestors” who died for the opportunities that we are presented with, deal with a large amount of black folks who whine, complain, and consistently show disdain towards civilized behaviors? I think we all know who would be labeled as the traitors.
I have a friend who has published a short story that addresses this. A modern black man is shot during a drug deal and while lying in a coma hovering between life and death, he is confronted by his male ancestors who worked for a better life. Even though it’s called A Kwanza Tale it gives proper praise to Jesus Christ. I believe it’s available on Amazon cheap.
I don't really think this helps anything at this point. First of all, the CRT push is coming from radical lefties, not the entire black community.
We are all in this together. Don't be picking on our black brothers and sisters. They've put up with a lot more shit than most of us have. The CRT pushers are a small fringe radical opportunist power hungry political group. It's just playing into their game to start lashing out at all blacks in retaliation.
Q never once encouraged anyone to reject any minority. Q has always focused on the fact that we are all facing the same enemy, and it's the DS.

I still give praise to the black community who have achieved in their lives. In hindsight, I should have included members of the Black community who openly speak out against CRT.
