As the title says im looking to compile a list of movies where there is a main character or characters that dont have high tech things or are against them but may have them and then continue to win over technology. Really wanting a movie marathon/collection of said movies and perhaps others might enjoy the same movies that you have seen but they dont know about. Thanks frens

The TV show Dollhouse culminates in this theme - you may enjoy.
I'll go first so set some context
Minority report, Robocop, Ex machina, Elysium, Transcendence
Hopefully that helps get the juices flowing
2001: A Space Odyssey, HAL the ship's computer goes haywire.
This might be the ultimate one. Transcendence of man.
Those not exactly a techno-thriller Tarkovskys Stalker, a Soviet film, is quietly about the situation we find ourselves in today, and the triumph of the mystical over the material, at least through enduring hope in the future.
Moves a glass of water across a table towards the OP
Also, my favorite film.
After a little research, sounds fascinating. Will have to watch it.
It's a very, very slow burn. Be prepared, lol. ?
Does enemy of the state qualify?
Terminator quickly comes to mind. Independence Day as well.
Johnny Mnemonic.
No film comes to mind quickly to assist you now.
Perhaps this may be found in foreign films. Hollywood is enamored with tech. So has Bollywood. The Korean films to me are the very best films in general. However, tech 'aversion' is mostly showing it as a privacy issue. Not tech itself.
I have notice Korean films are seeming to be more real and what audiences want more so than Hollywood's piles of shit.
Thank you for the idea to search foreign films as well
I'm not sure if it qualifies, but I love the movie ready player one. It's set in the 2040s. Everybody spends their days in virtual reality internet & a major corporation is trying to win the competition so they can make everyone complete slaves.
Minority Report for sure. Did research, movie production employed all the leading technologists of the day and wrote the script using the concenous on what the world will look like. It is for real.
