You know, there are fools out there who would not equate ‘reduce electricity’ to not charging up their Tesla.
They will preach all day, turning off the lights when not in use, reduce the AC power… but in the garage the family Tesla, the pinnacle of virtue signaling enviro-object will be getting a nice, juicy, fat charge.
sometimes i wonder if the irony of their protest will ever hit them, they complain about electricity, and charge their new cars, then they make signs out paper and plastic, holding it up with wood, and have the brilliant idea of stopping cars on the way to work, which would end up putting more "toxic carbon" into the atmosphere.
Except for their lithium batteries and the child slaves from Congo that have to dig the up the lithium with their bare hands. Let's not talk about the enviromental problems. I guess that's dope to, huh?
Who gives a shit if a car is bad for the environment? Cars being bad for the environment is nothing new. And obviously child slaves mining the lithium is bad but that doesn't change the fact that the car is just cool. Now I'd rather them immediately stop using child slaves to mine the lithium and if that means no batteries until they can figure out a proper solution then no batteries. But that doesn't change the fact that Teslas are cool.
In California, the largest chunk (50%) comes from natural gas. After that, Hydro, then like 20% from "renewable" like solar, wind, etc. I think 10% is nuclear. The last 20% comes from out of state coal.
Keep buying electric cars. It's going to work out well for everyone.

Teslas are fucking dope.
Yes, and it's also just cool and still a perfectly functional car.

And the phone/computer you're using to type that comment on?
It is as costly to the environment to dispose of batteries as it is to burn petroleum. Change my mind.

The concept might seem “dope” but not once you understand what they are doing and why. Getting free money is dope too
Enlighten me.
I don’t think they know where electricity comes from
Scarcity mentality for 100, Trebek
Kek! One of my co workers bought 2 Tesla’s then was upset that most of our electric power here comes from coal, yes he’s from CA. Sad huh?
