I know that most cases are closed, but when I looked into why, I could find no reason why they were closed.
No where in there, nor anywhere else in the official report does it say anything about how many were found, or returned home, or were found dead, or were closed because the C_A is in bed with the FBI and is the largest child trafficker in the world. None of that information is given. We are lead to assume that the "closed" cases were "returned home cases" but there is absolutely no statement of that whatsoever.
I am not saying that the 609K is the real number of missing, and that none returned home. I am only saying that the "official" word, says nothing conclusive, and there are reasons to suspect them regardless. Its also important to note that all of the information in that database is voluntary. There is no real system in place to track the real numbers.

That paper is insufficient. Their statistics are mostly meaningless (confidence intervals are HUGE). Such a large confidence interval (30%, 15% on each side) suggests that their sample size data was far too small to be drawing conclusions with the precision they have suggested. Reporting a 3 digit percent (99.8%) when the confidence interval is 15% is at best false advertising, and at worst fraud.
They also provide no source data. They do not give a break down of their data collection methods. They do not give access to their database. There are many problems with this report.
Perhaps more important, but also more difficult to prove is that the DOJ (who created the report) is in bed with the C_A, who are the world's largest child traffickers. If there is anyone who would provide a fraudulent report to diminish the potential fear that 800k missing children would produce in the population, its the DOJ/FBI (since it would never be the C_A itself).
I appreciate the evidence. It isn't nothing, but there are problems with it, and it is by no means good evidence, even if it isn't bad evidence.

Much like covid numbers, these numbers are inflated. Children are kidnapped, but not at these numbers. My guess is your source is doing something like counting all reports of a missing child, even if the vast majority of them are found.
