I just bought 80% ground beef this week for $3.19 a pound. And it wasn't even a sale price, just regular price. And I recently got whole boneless pork loins for $1.99 a pound, and the butcher cut it all into pork chops for me for free. I've been working on filling my freezer in case the meat actually does go up.
Don't count on hunting. Everyone will be out shooting anything that moves. Trapping small game is much better.
Rolling blackouts don't last long. Meat will last more than two days in our chest freezer. If it goes more than a week, then we will have a neighborhood cookout. Also, we might can some of it. I have an American Standard pressure canner, the Cadillac of pressure canners.
In the summer, I think the solar panels can keep the freezer going. The compressor doesn't have to run that much to keep the chest freezer cold.
Kinda like how propane has stayed 20 dollars for an exchange for a long time, they just put less and less propane in the tank to offset the raise in prices.
Yup. Especially on meat..which is common at a cookout.
Like...plant-“meat”?
I’ll suck anyone’s meat for free.
Barry. Back in the Bathhouse!!
Remember, the probability that a liberal is a meat-eater is lower than a normal person.

Hope you have a backup generator. If there's a blackout/powerloss for more than a couple days, all that freezer meat is toast.
Canned/dry goods my man. Meat can be hunted.

It must be compared to the all-time high panic prices after all the food processing plants closed.
