Can someone give me the Cliff Notes on the conservator-ship thing? My understanding is her dad's argument is basically that she's bad with money?
If that's the case, that's bullshit, but yeah.
It started after the breakdown she had years back when she shaved her head. Her father was granted conservatorship over literally everything about her. She has zero freedom and has to do whatever they tell her, while still working and taking in money for all these people. They’ve abused what the conservator laws are intended for (really old people who are in mental decline).
She’s obviously of sound mind and can clearly work and function.
She is forced to pay for her fathers attorneys and he chooses who can represent her. Huge conflict of interest.
suffer bi- polar my self. what should of happened was a hospitalization and time off from the industry. not this shit. the fact that she was working after having her legal rights taken from her is a red flag that it is slavery.....
It really is mind blowing
The attorney's fee is 16k a month. Not to mention the father's salary of 130k a year plus all his rent paid for. Plus he's had a restraining order filed against him for abusing Britney's 13-year-old son. I don't know how he's managed to get away with all of this for so long.
He is probably in deep with all these evil people, indulging in the devil. It’s baffling to me to see what they’ve been able to get away with LEGALLY!
We, as a whole society, really need to look more into these contracts that up and coming (oftentimes young and naive) people are signing. It’s similar to a slave-master relationship. We could brush it off as, we’ll they’re rich so what. But I believe these people have no clue what they’re getting themselves into. They’re owned by these big puppet masters.
okay, yeah, that needs to end then.
Christ, somebody needs to tell her about guardian ad litem...
Agreed. We should have the freedom to be bad with money.
Basically, a conservator becomes 'you'...in a way, it is like a parent/minor relationship. You sign contracts, you manage finances, medical, etc. on behalf of the conservatee.
Okay, but I'm trying to figure out what the argument for her continuing conservatorship is at this point? I know she went through a rough patch, but why continue the status at this point?
My only experience with conservatorship was with an elderly person who was at the end of life with dementia issues so there was really no chance of her getting better, but conservatorship laws are in the probate code. Here are the guidelines for removing:

thanks for the info, also Happy Independence Day!
