To be fair they probably aren't voting for them. You think Finland vikings voted for an open borders 34 year old millennial chick? I find it doubtful.
Or live in Massachusetts 🤣
That's the reason I never trusted it to begin with. You don't get something for nothing, but some people never learn
Basically living with parents
And why I did just that in December. 😁
I deleted FB about two yrs ago when people started yapping what they had for dinner. I realized it was a cancer .. I deleted Instagram last year. After all the BLM bs. I found it getting me pissed and decided I don't need to hear about all the bull shit I have never had Twitter , now I only check this and the win site way better Info here and there
Not if you own an android phone. You can refuse participation, they can still track you...and what you say. I use duck duck and whatever subject I am reading about here, google has a popup at bottom of page telling me about one of their articles on the subject.
Except you can opt out of Facebook. kinda hard to do that with socialism.
It’s a start right? I have not looked at FakeBroke in years love that I’m free of it!
yup. this is the only social media i use.
I’m a Facebook divorcée. Apparently they didn’t like what I posted so they banned me. Buh bye.
Lets make this meme famous
Facebook is a perfect example of an oligarchy. And an oligarchy is the type of government the DS desires. Like Facebook nothing under this form of government is free, it is just made to look like it is. They claim they will tax their rich benefactors, knowing full well the costs will be passed on to all of us. And you pay for Facebook, you just don’t realize you are paying for it by allowing them to sell your data and target you with ads.
Sorry, disagree with you here. Facebook is a private business, and can serve who and when it likes. Do we really want the government or the courts forcing private business to serve people they don’t wish to?
Shares of stock owned by "private citizens" makes it VERY public. Are they just a forum or are they a publisher??? The debate over 230 immunities is a residual of oblamers crap term..
Section 230 needs to be repealed-the immunities are NOT fitting for a corporate platform that pulls content because it does not agree with their agenda.... Politics for the politicians only. not any eminence griese influencers...
So… wait… according to you, any company that sells stock is no longer a private business?
So you support the government forcing private business to serve who the government wants them to?
Of course not, BUT, I resent any corporations hubris in thinking they have ALL the answers and can shut you down for any agenda ridden policy. Tyranny by any tech company is utterly abhorrent to this Republic. The Constitution is the Law of the Land and business practices should reflect that. However they are an entity on their own and falsely considered a "person".
Any corporation that is socially or financially backed by government, especially behind closed doors, is no longer eligible for the liberties of private entities. Facebook is nothing but a "private business" mask to put over government censorship and tracking.
Really.
Let’s just repeat what you said for everyone to hear, just so there is no confusion:
“Any corporation that is socially or financially backed by government, especially behind closed doors, is no longer eligible for the liberties of private entities.”
Please tell me how that statement is not absolutely, definitional, clearly communism. I mean actual literal communism.
Are you, a conservative, seriously claiming that no corporation with any financial or cultural backing from the government is eligible for the protections of private industry? Really?
The difference between Facebook and a local bakery is the immense amount of power that Facebook has. Millions (if not billions?) of users worldwide. The majority of people exclusively get their news from social media sources like Facebook now. No one can deny the power and influence that FB has. They have colluded with other big tech companies and the media to block certain websites and news stories.
Facebook should be treated like a public utility, like AT&T or Comcast for example. Those companies can’t discriminate against people based on their text messages or internet activity. Facebook and other social media sites like Twitter, Instagram are the new “public square”.
There’s also the issue that Facebook claims to be a platform but they act as a publisher. So another option would be for Facebook to have a disclaimer on their site stating that they actively monitor and censor/ban certain topics and opinions. Therefore people are informed about its true purpose.
Very good point about text message discrimination ! I’ll be using that argument!
I don't support socialist regulation on common carriers like utilities. If there is a problem like a monopoly, the free market will take care of it when consumers stop buying. It may hurt consumers for a minute, but shit will get handled.
This is EXACTLY how socialism gets a foot in the door. "Let's just use a teeny tiny little bit of Socialism to solve a problem!" So you break up Bell Telephone and the next step is massive regulation.
FREE enterprise is the key. Privatize EVERYTHING. Capitalism, free market economy, free enterprise. If everyone who voted for Trump turned off facebook, things would change immediately. Guess it doesn't happen because people don't want it to. When people are ready for The Plan, The Plan will be ready for the people.
Yes they are powerful, and huge. And yes that is a problem. But so are hundreds of massive companies who have near monopolies or cartels in industries. Break them up, make them smaller, works for me.
But don’t start dictating to private industry who they can and cannot serve.
Came here to say this. Bravo.
Should politicians be able to tell these platforms to censor and we are okay with that?
Do you have any evidence politicians are telling them what to censor?
