Yeah that threw me off initially as well, but several states have counties of the same name. There is a Hamilton county in almost every state, in fact. I had to do a spreadsheet once for work in which I listed every county of a state in each tab of the spreadsheet, and had a tab for every state. You notice similarities with a project like that.
Ah yes, you don't have a Hamilton parish but you do have a Jackson, Jefferson and a Lincoln - also very common county names among the states. Your state is on my list of southern states to visit one day. I'm jealous of people who got to see New Orleans before Katrina hit.
I lived thru Katrina - it was something else
We lost lots oak trees but the Quarter and most the city proper survived just fine. If you ever get to visit, I think you'll still enjoy it.
I have no doubt - I'll make it down there one day. I was planning to make it a stop on our way driving to the NRA conference in Houston, TX, but we scrapped the idea of that drive this year. I was hoping to have breakfast in the French Quarter. But, my husband agreed we'll make it a trip one day. He's already been there twice so he's not as eager as I am. Glad to hear you survived that horrible hurricane!!

Ah okay, thx
Yeah. Article was confusing until it realized there was a Fulton County, PA
So nice we have parishes in Louisiana 😁. No confusion. Lol

Why? How hard is it to name something differently??
