Unfortunately I did this a couple of years ago. Being adopted I was curious about my ancestry and seeing if there were any close relatives to be found.
Above all I'm Christian, then American, then a Paratrooper and in order of highest percentage; Norwegian, Scottish, Irish, English, Swedish, and a trace of Eastern European. The top 2 weren't even mentioned by the birth mother to the adoption agency but she might not have know much about the father's ancestry.
Unfortunately I have sent them data to use in designing targeted bio-weapons if that is possible. Sorry for my lack of foresight fellow Pedes.
A lot of good people got sucked in. My son and mother were two of them.
It never even occurred to me until recently what nefarious things they could be doing with that information. Things like targeting you for disease using your DNA, or targeting you, your children, or relatives to grab for organ donations to the elites. Donations are the wrong word, but you get the meaning.
No kids either luckily or unluckily, just me and my dogs. Due to certain "challenges" I faced in childhood I decided I needed to break a cycle of violence or something like that. The consequences of not dealing with "it" leaves me alone, I suppose. Being extremely introverted it's usually a good thing (until I need someone else to help pull guard).
And then there are those of us who underwent an investigation for a security clearance and Obama's people handed ALL the paperwork over to the Chinese...they didn't even encrypt the files.
If it makes you feel any better, they may not be collecting DNA for the Chinese. It may just be for a database of compatible parts for rich people. This may not have been the original vision of the companies, but corporations seem to evolve over time. (Remember when Google was the antithesis to Apple and their dictatorial treatment of customers. Now Apple seems like pro rights compared to Google.) Another 10-20 years and they'll be snatching people off the streets and out of their homes to be used as organ donors. Isn't that a lovely possibility?
Well, I think every time you get your blood tested at the doctor's office, bad people could acquire your DNA if they really wanted to so I think we are all pretty screwed. I always wanted to know more about my ancestors but just never got around to it. But I have blood drawn every year for a checkup so there you go. Plus now that our records are electronic I really doubt they are secure.

I am so sorry. May God bring you peace and understanding and may His angels enfold you in the warmth of His love.
You aren't alone, fren.
Oh well, when the entire world we've lived in is a lie, it's hard to not have fallen victim.
Proving that to be true, I have voted for Romney, McCain and Bush for President, believing they were good guys.

The Army got mine for remains identification back when I enlisted, I doubt that is still secure or remains secure also.
You are not alone. 😳
