That's a reflection of the bottom of the canopy leading up to that door. He's outdoors in that photo and you can see the fringes on that canopy reflection just above his shoulders.
I never saw anything similar on a WH photo, and the size honestly doesn't look like a rain cover as someone is saying, plus, look the details on the reflex, there's a stage outside there's with people on, if that's not a stage, what should that be normally?
I haven't either. Just saying that's a canopy of some sort and it looks temporary. I'm not dismissing that it's something, but I'm a photographer and I edit photos for things like this that stand out and you notice them later because they're distracting. I can't tell exactly either, but it looks like the bottom side metal that folds to support the awning, probably fairly wide and long over a carpeted entrance for VIPs of some sort. Don't recall seeing one in a prior image at the WH though.

Probably nothing, but nice work keeping your eyes peeled. What’s sad is knowing is this country I love will only be a shell of its former self (at best) when my three little girls get older. Living life with the foresight and knowledge that our children are going to have it much worse off than I had it and my parents had it growing up is hard to reconcile. I wish our founders could see what has become of the greatest accomplishment in world history (true freedom) and guide us in how to correct this mess. They did give us one tool, but god willing we never have to use it.

What are we looking at? What is the source? WH has mobile awnings that htey move into position to protect entrances during rain events.
