If they are simply removed, another head will grow in its place. The entire establishment must be discredited, not just among those already suspicious, but to virtually everyone. Only then will the whole thing crumble. A path to reasonable information and encouragement of discernment and critical thinking must also be established, but that is a secondary step.
The evidence for this complete manipulation can't be told, it must be shown in a way that will be believable by the brainwashed who have blinders on their head. The display of evidence itself must be Rogerian; you must start on their side and plant the seed. It only needs to be established, in those that are currently unwilling or afraid to look, that there is reason to look deeper. That seed, planted on their side, is the poison pill that kills Hydra.

I have been wondering about the possibility/feasibility of cutting off the media communications.
Destroying TV and radio transmitters is technically feasible and relatively easy for, say, the military to accomplish. Likewise cable TV networks.
Satellite TV can be crippled by targeting a small number of satellites.
Websites can be disabled.
However, what would be the outcome of cutting off the fake news? There would be an outcry from the sheeples. Would they look for alternative sources of information - newspapers, maybe?
An alternative would be to take over the broadcasting centers by force but, unless the same "talking heads" were reading "the news", the sheeples wouldn't believe them.
These are just my thoughts. I don't know the answer.

The media, Big Tech and the Medical Establishment completely went all-in on pushing the Covid "vaccines", insisting that everyone have the vax and covering up any evidence of harmful effects. They banned, discredited and blackballed anyone who even mentioned that the "vaccine" may cause a problem.
Later this year, when it becomes evident that the vaxxed are the ones falling ill from the flu in unprecedented numbers, that many are beginning to have blood clots, heart problems and other health problems... and the unvaxxed are remaining relatively healthy... the public may finally wake up to the corrupt MSM and corruption of Big Tech and the medical industry. Unfortunately, people have to be SHOWN. They will see the effects in friends and neighbors and in their own family. It will become undeniable (except to the completely brainwashed). People will become livid.
That's when the class action lawsuits will start against Big Pharma. While we may not be able to sue them for producing an experimental "vaccine" that caused problems... they CAN be sued for failure to test properly, for providing false information to the Federal Government (in support of their failed vax) and for providing false advertising and untrue information to the general public (rather than the required warnings.

Obviously it isn't single entity but of collection of controlled, narrative driven propaganda machines all sync'd together to cover issues that can be spun, ignore anything the runs contrary to the narrative and amplify the lies by repeating over and over. Cutting off the puppet masters is definitely needed but so to the familiar faces that push this garbage into homes and heads. We're speaking to you Rachel Madoff, Don Lemon, Wolf Blitzer, etc, etc.
Better yet, turn them so some of the familiar and trusted faces our deluded population has come to believe now tell the real story and what's actually going on. That seems like the best possible outcome of this.
I think this issue is complicated by 1A and the precedent established during Hussein's term that allows them to be propaganda outlets. So it kind of makes sense that they would need the DS to trigger something specific to get around these complications. Guessing the EO mentioned is that trigger.
