They might be perfectly fine folks, or not, and I am always amazed that we think the only country available is USA to bring them to.
I would think these refugees fare better, acclimate faster, in their own region of the world. Turkey is a Nato Country, and Muslim. If I was an Afghani refugee, I think I would rather go somewhere I would fit in quicker, have a wider variety of jobs available, and feel more at home than in a completely foreign culture.
To flop it on me... If I was an American refugee, I'd rather be transported to Canada or Australia, or England for example, rather than Japan or Brazil or wherever. Somewhere I could quickly get a job, understand the culture and language the first day, fit in with my new country rather quickly.
