Actually we never went in because they had a sign on the door that said Masks were Required.
This restaurant only recently opened in my small town in rural county. They only serve breakfasts on Saturday am. We were the only car in their lot other than their workers. Was the food ok? I wondered. How come no one else was there?
We noted the open sign and walked up to the door. When we saw the sign that masks were required we walked away.
One of the workers or the owner opened the door and ran out to say we are open. We said yes we knew and that you mandate masks so we will be going elsewhere.
They just lost a customer and some revenue they probably needed since there were no other customers in their restaurant. Knowing this rural conservative town.. they probably have lost a ton of other customers here, too. People here in general don't want to wear the masks.
I suspect they won't last the year.
Just wanted to point out that it's not the servers who make the mask policy. People need to work and at least they aren't sitting at home collecting bidemployment money. You should be going after the owner/manager imo
The prison guards in Auschwitz needed a job too.
It’s a Nuremberg violation. Not as severe as the vaccine issue but it’s still medical treatment without informed consent.
I think they realize this. That said, our country is at war and anyone who upholds directives like wearing masks and the like are collaborators with the enemy. If that sounds drastic, realize that there's no end to what they're willing to impose on us IF we let them.
Appreciate the sentiment, but if enough of the workers refuse to raise the issue for fear of using a tip, management becomes toothless on the issue. Keep in mind that management in the bigger cities don't like to look like they're attacking the "proletariate," so they tend to back off if enough workers raise a big enough stink.
Also, notice that u/Camden105b 's husband gives tips to those who don't push the issue, giving positive as well as negative encouragement in equal measure.
No one has the balls to actually to complain to the people in charge. It's easier to bitch atthe peons. Boomers and the first half of the X'ers are notorious for this in particular, as I learned in retail.
I'm the only one at UPS refusing to put a mask on towards the end of shift. They only want us to wear them to look good for the boss who comes in for the morning. What a joke.
restaurants tend to not function well without servers though. Servers themselves can talk to the manager.
